Can shrooms cause HPPD like LSD does sometimes?
And, I know lots of psychedelics cause shizophrenia or worsen it, does shrooms have these effects too?

HPPD is a disorder that has not been particularly well researched, some say they developed it as a result of cannabis use, others as a result of panic attacks (VSS); there is a close correlation with anxiety however.
Honestly? I had paranoia for months because I was trying to analyse my perception following a panic attack after taking a TAB, I'm generally very anxious.
I'm almost tempted to try mushrooms again because honestly? They made me feel good, having said that my advice is don't obsess about it, it doesn't make sense.

if you have a genetic predisoposition for schizophrenia like you have family that has it using psychs can make it hit you quicker. other than that it's not known to cause schizophrenia outright. hppd usually only happens when you take large doses and it's more common with acid. but I had a friend who had it and got flashbacks and he says he prefers it that way.

I think the connection to schizophrenia development isn't well supported like LSD and cannabis. There is some evidence but not enough studies. HPPD anecdotally it's reasonable to assume it can cause HPPD but seems more common when someone is also using cannabis near when they took the shrooms.
