Napoleon Bonaparte once said something like: no historical character has had as much influence as Jesus had. And i think that no character in modern history has had as much influence as Albert Hofmann. I cannot imagine the world if Hofmann never existed, there wouldn't be the beatles, or pink floyd, or tool, or grateful death. Computers probably wouldn't exist (as they did LSD in bell labs according to the UNIX haters' handbook). MK-ULTRA would not be a thing. Huxley would not have been such a great writer. Hunter S. Thompson would have not written fear and loathing in Las Vegas, meaning that the adrenochrome myth would not exist and soykaf like QAnon would not exist.
The butterfly effect is incredible.

Acid didn't invent this stuff. It tapped into it. It was already there. I mean hell, in that painting there's a seraph giving acid to Hofmann through a pipette.
It's always weird seeing people reverse-engineer religion and thinking they've discovered something profoundly novel. It happens so often. Also a lot fewer of these things are myths than you would be comfortable with lol

Could you give an example?

acidheads always forget psychs have existed in nature & been used long before Hofmann
maybe you're right though, like I like to be a sciencehead but when psychedelics reflect so heavily on the symbols you already hold in your brain the synthetic/natural divide is very real
I can't imagine inventing techshit on mescaline or shrooms, why would you bother when the natural world is so fundamental and beautiful, if shrooms or cactus are eating the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden, then acid is building the tower of babel in comparison
