HPPD flashbacks and Psychosis
Molly Millions · 2017-10-09 14:18
Few months ago (a few days before the deep web markets were seized) i ordered what i'm no longer sure was LSD and now think it was 25i NBOMe. Took what i thought was approx. 330 micro grams. Long story short i got the very distinct effects of a high dose (possibly lethal) of N-BOMe eg. seizures, violent psychosis etc...
TLDR; ended up in hospital and still months later have persisting hallucinations. I heard that people with HPPD often get flashbacks to trips which i hadn't experienced. After a few months of trying to regain mental stability. I try smoking a bit of weed to slowly try and lessen my fear of substances. About 5 minutes after i finish smoking, i start becoming very confused, very traumatic hallucinations return. Losing sense of what is real anymore.
Wanna ask you guys whether you think it was a flashback to the trip where i experienced psychosis due to HPPD or if it would more likely be drug enduced psychosis?
Really want to get back into psychs but i really don't want to get stuck in a state like that for 9~12 hours.
Any advice, recommendations of what i can do?

Definitely wasn't real LSD, probably a NBOMe, maybe a 2c, maybe some weird soykaf I don't even know about
If you have developed HPPD you probably need to stay away from psychs, at least for a while
It isn't always a permanent condition, for some people it goes away after time, some people it lasts years
Weed especially is known for triggering HPPD, even more than low doses of other psychs, I don't know why
Your symptoms sound more like HPPD than drug educed psychosis
Do you get tracers when moving your eyes or patterns when looking at sheetrock? Those are the "classic" HPPD symptoms
Also, if you go to a doctor about this, they will probably prescribe anti-psychotics. DO NOT take them, they are poison
Just lay off psychs for a while, stick to stims/downers if you want to do anything, definitely avoid weed, and see how it goes

Going to agree with >>872 here, sounds much more like HPPD than drug-induced psychosis.
Best advice for you is to wait, for most people it will go away over time or the symptoms will at least fade. Alongside this, you tend to get used to it over time if the everyday symptoms aren't that bad. (Source: myself)
I'd say avoid any hallucinogens in the future, particularly compounds that serotonergic (All psychs, weed, spice, most dissociatives (particularly DXM), MDMA and similar compounds, etc.)
Straight uppers and downers (amphetamine, x-phenidates, cathinones, opioids, gaba-agonists) should be fine, but YMMV. Also, watch out for stimulants and sleep deprivation, since I've heard sleep deprivation definitely makes things worse.
tl;dr Sleep well, eat healthy, don't do any hallucinogens

OP here,
Thanks for the advice guys.

I have taken some stimulants like ritalin and modafinyl for study purposes and don't suffer from any negative effects.
Usually i don't get tracers unless i am tired or have smoked a bit of weed. I haven't seen the doctor about the mild hallucinations which persist. (Words on screen wiggle/tilt and enlarge and get smaller slightly.)
Psychologist told me that this could be an early warning sign of schizophrenia, and what i experienced was likely drug induced psychosis.
I do agree with with anti-psychotics being pretty much poison, but they are also a lifesaver for me. When i smoked week a few days ago and became delusional and got strong hallucinations and lost sense of what is real. I took Seroquel (anti-psych) and valium/diazapam (benzo) and that brought me back to reality within about 45 minutes.
tldr; anti-psychs definitely help when entering psychotic state but i feel like i've been poisoned for a days or so after. I am still very interested in trying DMT but the fear of entering that state again is too much. Would this be a permanent problem cause i still want to try DMT in the future but i'm scared as hell.

You have your whole life ahead of you, drugs can wait. Give your body time to recover itself, mental health is serious stuff.

There is no way of knowing how long this is going to last
Do not try n,n-dmt (i assume you meant n,n, not 4-aco or 5-meo or any of those) while experiencing HPPD
Strong psychs can and will fuarrrk you up, especially anything that acts via serotonin receptors, like a tryptamine
Its good that the anti-psychs helped you recover the other day, but you need to just make sure you aren't in a position where you need to recover
Long term use of anti psychotics will permanently fuarrrk up your brain, and your psychiatrist will not warn you about this
Don't trust your psychiatrist either, they have every incentive to get you permanently dependent on their drugs
Don't listen to their bullsoykaf about schizo, they're just trying to get you on anti-psychs so they can get those sweet sweet kickbacks
And stay the fuarrrk away from diazapam, I've seen what addiction to it did to one of my friends, and it ain't fuarrrking pretty
Your best course of action for the time being is to lay off psychs, cut down on everything some, stick to caffine, l-theannine, or mild opiates
Also, avoid alcohol, since it tends to make existing mental problems worse over time, even if you don't expect it to
Just give your brain a chance to heal before you fuarrrk around with it

You've probably already checked wiki. but just in case, they list many drugs you can try to treat HPPD

That's not how schizophrenia works, you absolute moron. And you're telling him to reject anti-psycotics because they're "harmful" like the tradeoffs of using them over being completely unable to function during an episode aren't well know THEN suggest he does opiates? What the fuarrrk is wrong with you?

he isn't suffering from schizo, he's suffering from hppd which is caused by overuse of serotogenic psychedelics
treatment for schizo won't help him because it wouldn't be treating the right thing
there is no cure for hppd, in most cases it lasts between weeks and months, then gradually goes away
in some cases it lasts for years and might possibly be permanent, but again, there's really no treatment
i didn't tell him to take opiates to treat hppd, that would be stupid
he was asking if it was ok to take psychs again, and i told him no, it wouldn't be
taking psychs while you are being affected by hppd is a very bad idea, they can cause it to get much worse
also, if you have been abusing them to the point where you have developed hppd, they may cause other issues
however, mild stimulants like coffee or tea won't trigger hppd, and opiates won't either, entirely different system
i was just suggesting some alternative drugs he can take while waiting for his hppd to get better
