When I buy shrooms how do I know if I got ripped off or not? I mean someone could just give me poisonous mushrooms. How do I know for sure what I got is legit?

I've heard rumors online about people selling non psychoactive mushrooms and placing another psychoactive such as LSD in them. But from my experience, I have never seen this. You should only buy mushrooms from a trusted source. The same goes from most drugs. 25I-NBOMe is often sold as "LSD" due to their similarities. These things tend to happen to younger, inexperienced people, as they can't tell the difference. If you're dealing with someone who sees you this way, best not to do it.

cultivate your owns. By spores and do it. It's not complex and fresh mushrooms have greater potency (due to higher quantity of psilocin)
