Mai waifu, who is someone I know in the 2D realm, is looking into shipping things within the fictionalized US as seen in her mango series. What are some methods to avoid detection in her non-existent nation?
She would appreciate methods that would cover things like sealing things to be near as undetectable to dogs, scanning equipment as possible and how to properly handle things without contaminating the bag/storage devices, and maybe how to further obfuscate certain drawn, clearly fake things like 2D cannabis products, DMT, mescaline, MDMA, LSD, etc.

>Dogs
Protip: There's no dogs sniffing US mail unless something else tips off the authorities. Your mail is protected by the fourth amendment and the ACLU would be all over USPS if they started screening all mail.
It's a different story for private couriers like UPS. They retain the right to screen anything you send.

Just do what every DNM dealer does. Triple vacuum seal your soykaf, wash the exterior with alcohol after each seal, and then ship in a nondescript USPS priority box/envelope. They typically package the final product inside an opaque sealed bag to ensure that nobody will see the product in the event that the box breaks open in shipping. Dealers frequently add fake invoices and other things like that to their packages as well.
One thing you need to concern yourself with is fingerprints and DNA. It's absolutely essential that prints and strands of hair don't wind up in the packaging.
And before anyone says
>Hey! Don't talk about the stealth methods! The cops will find out!
You can be 100% sure that the cops are already familiar with these stealth methods. They certainly buy stuff to examine the packaging themselves. Your goal here is to get past the USPS employees so they don't alert anyone else. Your soykaf should be sealed down tight so nobody smells/sees dank nugs, but it also has to look innocuous.

Would ozone treatment of the packages be too much? As in, would it rouse suspicion somehow? She's very paranoid as you can imagine, and only wants the package to reach the destination she intended.
The idea, she's said, would be to package the fictional products under a hood and vacuum sealing via retort pouches (gas flush system), washing each package somehow, and then repeating until at least three layers are set.
Also, as a side note, mai waifu is wondering what the package should be declared as containing generally.

wow, is it one of those cliche comedic sequences where she is staying up all night unnecessarily overdoing something?
>One thing you need to concern yourself with is fingerprints and DNA
I'm not sure that it's that important, but I guess it can't hurt.
I think that if you have the option of mailing it without getting your face in post office camera, you don't put your real name and address on the package etc., you'll be fine even if the package doesn't get there. I assume that, whether it is pockys, M&M's, dried forget-me-not or whatever, it's small quantities, so this thing + decoy would fit in an envelope; an envelope that you could mail pretty much anonymously from one of those envelope boxes that stand on the streets.
If I understand correctly, the sailor fuku wearing kawaii residents of the Burger Mountain High School still have plausible deniability, so she should be fine as well.
Now, if it comes to the part where you're both fine and she gets her rum raisin:
Jesus, the postal service in my country barely gets the packages to the specified address. I seriously doubt that anyone in USPS is that bored and overzealous that they carefully inspect every package. I would assume that they just throw it in the right place, slap a right sticker on it, and try to not fuarrrk it up too much in the process if they have a good day.
The thing that would even lead to anyone opening up the package would likely be customs-related, so I guess that you should find out what kind of packages get opened for this reason and make sure that your package is of different kind. You could probably also find some empiric data on a forum for people that order things not on the Ordo Malleus blacklist from overseas and their shipments get bothered by customs.
You should declare the package as something that doesn't get bothered by customs.
I would use things that people use for amortization, like this bubble foil or something; that should make the package seem like all the others.
You could consider sending something else and hiding the embarrassing photos of her sleeping with open mouth on a bus either in the wrapping of whatever will seem like the actual contents, or in the thing itself. Again, it depends on what doesn't get bothered US customs-wise and what are the shapes etc. of what it is you're selling.
The more you wrap it in super duper clean foil for whatever reason, the bigger it gets and harder it is to conceal. If you really need to wrap it, maybe hide it in something, and then wrap the whole thing in zyklon teen melancholy;aqua vacuum?
That's my take on the paranoid option, I presume that you would be just fine if you would go with

>ozone treatment
Seems totally pointless to me. Literally the only way your package will be detected is if it's ripped open or the police have prior knowledge of the shipment. They're not going to run a dog near the package unless they're willing to x-ray it too, and if they get to that point there's always a good chance that the investigating officer will just rip it open and fabricate a reason afterwards. They do it all the time when they pull people over on the highway.

Why declare anything? USPS only asks if you're shipping hazardous substances. You just have to tick off "no" and leave it at that. I have seen a variety of different return addresses. The return address is usually to some random small company like "Smith and Sons automotive 55 Main St." or some soykaf like that. Nobody is looking twice unless it's "Bob Marley 420 BLAZEIT St."
Bear in mind that the package should be shipped from the correct area. If you put the return address as Greenville you shouldn't toss it in a mailbox in Blueville.
I also want to say I would never ever ship soykaf internationally. There are plenty of dealers who do it, but it just seems dumb to me. Customers will be unhappy and may blame you when/if their stuff is caught in customs. All of the stuff I've mentioned about the 4th amendment and lack of dogs goes out the window when you're crossing international lines.
That being said, customs only catches a minuscule number of illicit packages. Many make it through.
You are a braver man than I. I have looked into dealing on DNMs and decided I wouldn't get into it. I am just not savvy enough when it comes to laundering money or purchasing shipping labels without leaking any information along the way.

Packaging has to stay fairly compact. The completed product should easily slide into a USPS flat rate box. I do not believe decoy items are necessary.
>DNA/prints
It strikes me as a big deal since it's one of the things I would be looking for if I was a narc. Actually, I have been curious about dusting some of the goods my waifu has ordered for prints, but I do not have a print kit at my disposal.

>Why declare anything?
Lain was talking about customs, so I'm reading that whole post as being about international shipping into the US from outside, which would require a declaration for import tax reasons.

The bit about declaration confused me. OP's original post says "within the fictional US" which is not the same ball game as "into the US."

I'm pretty sure that it is, and it was simply one of those "someone who isn't me" things.

the best stealth my neighbor's cat has ever seen was one of those silica gel packets emptied out and filled with mdma (with a decoy item of course). it took him several minutes to even find the goods in the box.
