How to do transitions like this in video editing

I am trying to edit a video of different drawings to look some what animated but I need to do this sort of transition between each drawing. Does anyone know how to do this sort of transition? http://yuumei.deviantart.com/art/Knite-Chapter-1-151132545 I'm using kdenlive for editing but can use photoshop if need be.

>>1969 That looks like a crossfade transition to me, anon. I've not used that program, but I I bet you can do something similar by bringing down the opacity of one element while simultaneously increasing another. I think that's what you're asking?
