Hello lainons. I'm curious as to what anyone's use case for lua is. I think it would be fun to learn for its integration into things such as neovim and nmap, and also as a first programming language. I plan on learning with youtube and "programming in lua: fourth edition",using nvim to write code.Any thoughts about this approach would be appreciated!!!

Stop making duplicate threads.
Then read PIL: https://www.lua.org/pil/contents.html
If you want to go fast, there is LuaJIT.
If you want a package manager, there is LuaRocks.
Need a library? Try one of these: https://github.com/LewisJEllis/awesome-lua

Make sure to get a plugin that allows you to quickly send your code to interactive Lua REPL (something similar to Emacs' lua-mode) . Write all example programs by hand and try to modify them (to make them do something slightly different).
