I greet you from this hole in the third world in the middle of marshes and mangroves called Guayaquil. I follow you since. You make me laugh, you make me learn to be more stoic and cynical with this soykafty society that prostitutes itself every day in its selfishness. However I have also learned a lot from you and I wanted to ask you a question that has been tickling my balls, philosophically speaking (I'm going to be long-winded). I just watched Elon Musk's Netflix documentary, Back to Space, a marvel of perseverance and prosperity in the face of his project. This year or the other if I do not remember. It is said that he will bring out his factory production in more of the Tesla bot. The Tesla bot. Like a humanoid robot. I am now in my ninth semester of medicine and I fell into how much in technological evolution. The industrial revolution. Just two generations are enough to evolve in giant steps in technology...but not in Ecuador, as my dad used to say "Ecuador is 50 years behind intellectually". (we always have to worry about bread or sewage before space rockets or improving social security)...at least that for the poor.... but the university students and the authorities still think that their descendants will continue studying medicine on the same way...like in the old days. (When I ask my professors .... they seem to be in denial, offended at being shown how they are obsolete, or placidly accepting the reality that they are already old and can smile nonchalantly at a death that will save them from competing against a machine). Almost all professors of medicine continue to make the mistake that it will be a person repeating the operations of a watchmaker or carpenter. (Stubborn in romantic speeches of why medicine is a holy race of human hands and other speeches taken from gray's anatomy or any other old television crap). Can you imagine a silly medical dreamer wanting to go to Germany to specialize and he will look like a street sweeper in front of a more specific and cheaper gadget? I mean, the machine has a better pulse in its mechanical hands and elon musk wants to mass manufacture that. Have you heard of the Tesla bot? I mean...elon musk is already traveling cheaper to another planet this year he says he's bringing out his Tesla bot. if they already put it in, even that it recognizes criteria tables( which eventually ...that will take them less than ten years....or else by then it will kind of standardize the bot into mass production like how many years away do you think we are to the next doctors just being the ones programming machines for surgeries? Would that imply that we are almost the last generation of human doctors? Within ten years an ophthalmology specialty would be obsolete by humans and perfected by machines.... so not even ten years left?...because the other thing would be to learn how to program. Those who are just starting to study in the first semester, ten years of study and five years of specialization will not be able to practice due to the fact that a machine has been perfected. That a machine has been perfected...in ten years everything we know about laboratory and semiology and improved surgical procedures will have been put in each Tesla...it would be almost impossible for hospitals to exist...I mean hardly.... Or ambulances...or that the university will no longer prepare people to be doctors but programmers of these machines. The extinction of bureaucracy by being available with robots that evolve or acquire medical equipment. (Not to mention that drones are already replacing courier services by programming delivery routes). Further down the road. As soon as they are distributed by zones they will improve and economize statistical research...the criteria for disease severity classification will come from the censuses of these robots...their evolution, their economization, and human machine amalgamations at the brain and chromosomal level (Neuralink). Every time I ask them, they always talk about the politician of the moment, about economy preventive measures, about how long it will take to arrive...the same things they used to say about the Internet until we had to digitize our memories in the cloud.... Personally, I smell an environment unable to move forward, due to politics, poverty, culture... and a thousand other causes, political, educational, labor. Always in the eternal stagnation that things will continue to be done in the same way, that the watchmaker's son will also become a watchmaker. And it is a stupid, romanticized aura, like worshipping a saint or a martyr, and doctors who are professors use this to feed their ego and pride because they know a lot but are incapable, humanly speaking, of attending 100% of the patients per day. Human capacities are not enough for an efficient 12-hour job doing guard duty and without food and poorly paid, but medical professors feel proud that their students repeat the same stupid things they did fifty years ago when there are already machines. Deep down I think it is just a masturbation where the more you study the more you get, but in real life even if you know everything, as an individual made of weak flesh, it is not possible to improve in the area of health if when you get hurt in a delicate organ you must process for twenty minutes an ambulance that charges you 500 dollars to the hospital where the only specialist will take another five hundred dollars and not to mention the bureaucratic time between getting a CT scan and surgery. ...are like useless obstacles or stagnations in front of a Teslabot that when you have a cerebral infarction can attend you and operate you...I mean...they gave hands to the Tesla bot. How long will it take for it to know how to handle a knife? A scalpel? To be able to analyze statistics and improve techniques for people to treat disease, or better said, even cure cancer? To be able to synthesize biocomponents like portable oparin lamps? How fast will they evolve, what will they evolve towards? Multivac? How "fast" is it for a robot? How would you think of a robot that has programming to attend and solve neurology cases? Technically, robots would be the first to discover time travel and they will never tell us that. why bother to study a specialty after finishing college if in ten years it won't be of any use to me in the face of a teslabot. what comes after the teslabtot, another speech about why there are rich and poor, that it's all about politics? you could say that phyton would be the programming language of matrix, terminator, digimons, evangelions, westworld and transformers? I mean, the neuralink chip already has a robot that implants it.

>Can you imagine a silly medical dreamer wanting to go to Germany to specialize and he will look like a street sweeper in front of a more specific and cheaper gadget? I can't; robots are used for a long time in medicine and their applicability is limited. Musk is not an engineer and his new toys are mostly marketing phenomena.

>>32012 This is perhaps the most glaring issue I have with OP's premise. Elon Musk is a grifter. That said, the technology is getting there. There could easily be an algorithm that could accurately assess symptoms and make diagnoses. While I'm sceptical of OP's optimism, I can see it coming. The issue is that doctors have a lot of power to lobby on their behalf, and profit-seeking hospitals aren't motivated to actually care for more people when it's more profitable depriving them of treatment. I can see a lot of secretary and perhaps nursery work getting replaced, but I don't think doctors will budge from their status. Hospitals might only want to invest in a Teslabot just to add an additional charge to someone's bill. I think I mostly agree OP, although it should be emphasised that a social change is needed in tandem with technological change.

This sort of soykaf has been "just around the corner" since I was in elementary school. Every couple of years some company or university shows off a futuristic looking robot that does a small number of simple tasks at a sub-human level of competence, and the media runs with it, writing articles about how we're on the verge of a 1960s-style sci-fi future. It never goes anywhere, and it's because technological revolutions like that aren't really a "thing". Advances in science and technology are incremental; knowledge compounds upon knowledge, until eventually you end up with something that makes a tangible difference to society at large. There's no such thing as an inventor; only people who happened to be there when things clicked into place. More to the point, how the fuarrrk do you expect a robot to do surgery or practice medicine if they can't even do the dishes? Also, daddy Elon is a fraud. He's like Steve Jobs if he promised more and delivered less.

>>32010 You know that’s a joke right? It’s a person in costume. Maybe they are making some Spot clone but there is no info on it. Look at Boston dynamics for the cutting edge of robotic. I believe you when you say Ecuador is soykaf and retarded. Failed countries like that are like drug addicts, don’t try to “save them”, they don’t want to be saved. More often than not the people have a retarded culture and values and that what keeps them down. Look for better countries, there are plenty of rankings on education, individual freedom, safety, social mobility, etc. Try to understand what makes them prosperous, move there and assimilate the prosperous culture. >>32016 >>32014 You are retarded.

It never ceases to amaze me how smart people can fall for obvious scams, how they still hype up these kinds of people like Elon Must even after they have been proven to be scammers like hundred times already.

>>32102 don't tell me I remember reading about him in press in lat 90s about him crashing in expensive car or having illegal nightclub in the past and mentioning his rich as fuarrrk familly. And then suddenly few years later he suddenly was from poor family led by single mother abandoned by rich father. LMAO.

>>32102 People are afraid to be wrong, so trust what others tell them over their own observations. You can convince anyone you're a genius if you get up on stage and tell people you are one for long enough.
