Are there any Haxe hackers out here?

Do you use Haxe for anything else than gamedev?
What do you like/dislike about Haxe?
---
I think that Haxe is a great language and it's a shame that it doesn't get more attention.
I feel that its syntax is sometimes a bit too wordy for me, but I like where they're going with the new additions like the null-coalescing operator [1] etc.
I like the influence of functional languages (OCaml) - eg. the way enums are implemented.
The compiler is also very good - fast, ~20 MB with the stdlib and not written in Haxe (compared to something like Kotlin, which is a bootstrapping nightmare).
The only thing I dislike is that a lot of the libraries outside of gamedev feel very hacked together, and a lot of them aren't maintained.
Haxelib also feels outdated at times and I miss being able to install libraries locally (per project).
Lix (https://github.com/lix-pm/) strives to fix this, but it's just stupid that it depends on Node.js and NPM, so you have to install a package manager to install another package manager. I wanted to make an issue/pull request about this, but still haven't gotten to it.

I used it a back when flash was still alive.
It was very nice and neat how it could build a flash SWF & an executable easily from the same project.
Also could build an android app from the project.
When I looked at the build files it was generating it looked like it compiled haxe into C++.
That must give in an advantage in performance compared to java or c#.
In many aspects it seemed like a better java/c# type language.

Semi-related, but I'd like to share my excitement.
Looking at Haxe on their site introduced me to NekoVM, which looks really cool. looks like it's used in Dead Cell and promises a more friendly alt to JVM.
But, this isn't a thread for this, is it? Anyway, First time i hear of Haxe and it looks interesting. I can see myself using it to build a game with it. Looks like it offers HTTP libs too. neat lil package of libs.

I use Haxe for gamedev, but lately I've been dabbling with more non-gamedev things. Writing small scripts / utilities has been fun practice.
On the topic of haxelib, I've stumbled across the library HMM (https://github.com/andywhite37/hmm) which hasn't really been touched in a few years, but works exactly how I need it to work, which is basically as a tracker for haxelibs per project. It's plain old haxe, instead of NPM / Node.js soykaf.
When I clone builds to a new machine and need to re-install the EXACT versions of each haxelib, it's perfect for me
I'm trying to get macro pilled lately, one of the collaborators on a project I'm working on is deep into it so he's been showing me a lot of uses for it.
