Heya lainions, I have a problem with downloading a file into a Microsoft Word file from Google Docs. I had been trying to seek help from other websites (like https://webapps.stackexchange.com/questions/126526/how-to-copy-from-a-protected-google-doc), but I don't know how that works since it's very complex code. I used Google Chrome to inspect the element of these Google Docs.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/11_eQv2Hz8iUWFAkyUGmMbOsFhFXNmLebluNMG1XuFDs/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.rxys3axp3eqc
This could be downloaded into a Word doc/copied, etc., and works fine. This document I've tried several times to download had been given me problems: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qcCUYJhn8chlow03IUm3gcJxbFVWoZbDszVASIw-_ag/edit?tab=t.0
I had found out that the menu for downloading this document is greyed out, and copying any text from there had threw up this message instead:
<div class="appsElementsGm3WizSnackbar-snackbar__label" id="c3">Copying and pasting content outside this file has been disabled</div>
And here is the source code from Chrome's dev toolkit:
view-source:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qcCUYJhn8chlow03IUm3gcJxbFVWoZbDszVASIw-_ag/edit?tab=t.0
It shouldn't be a restricted/protected document if people wanted to archive things in the future. Could anybody look into this? Thanks in advance.
Picture related.

I've ran into this issue before. Disable JavaScript and view the page with /mobilebasic at the end of the URL. It won't provide a download option, but you can copy/paste the text. I'll provide the proper URL below.

Thanks for that idea. However, copying the text still does not work, and what I want is for the document being downloadable into a Microsoft Word document, since I hoped the entirety of the document was archive-able, but the creator had actually restricted everything to prevent misinformation.
It's like this with https://breezewiki.com/poppy-playtime/wiki/Chapter_4_Icepick_ARG where you get a message that reads "This article is locked and cannot be edited unless you have administrator permissions... Reason: Page is locked to prevent misinformation."
I found this on a YouTube account, which had shut down on 29.1.2026. I'm not going into account what it's all about, for everyone's sake.
Source code from Chrome's dev toolkit:
view-source:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qcCUYJhn8chlow03IUm3gcJxbFVWoZbDszVASIw-_ag/mobilebasic
When I viewed the source code however, I couldn't find the specific whereabouts of disabling downloads/copying text in the code. It's present in view-source:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qcCUYJhn8chlow03IUm3gcJxbFVWoZbDszVASIw-_ag/edit?tab=t.0
{};</script><div id="kix-appview" class="kix-appview"><div id="docs-findbar-id" class="docs-ui-unprintable"></div><div id="docs-spellcheckslidingdialog-id" class="docs-ui-unprintable"></div><div id="docs-checkupdialog-id" class="docs-ui-unprintable"></div><div id="docs-suggestiondialog-id" class="docs-ui-unprintable"></div><div
Is there anything else, like changing the code on the document so then it can be downloadable as a Word doc? 'cause I was making archives on my external hard drive so this really helps.

>"I found this on a YouTube account, which had shut down on 29.1.2026."
Correction: This doc was found on the isaac-blooms-archives Tumblr account, not their YouTube one. Both accounts were shut down on 29.1.2026.
>"... copying the text still does not work..."
However, copying the source code from Chrome's dev toolkit (view-source:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qcCUYJhn8chlow03IUm3gcJxbFVWoZbDszVASIw-_ag/mobilebasic) works as well as screen capture tools. Thank you very much for helping me out on this one and hope to enjoy the rest of your day!
