hello lainons, i started studying IT this year and while most things are still new to me, i do have some small experience with JavaScript, MySQL, and Python already.
i've also practiced a bit of Java in the past (free online courses to learn the basics) and preferred the C-like syntax. unfortunately my uni only offers Python and C# classes and wants us to only use those languages for projects...
i already know i want to choose the cs/software engineering path, and take a minor in cybersecurity / ethical hacking.. would you guys recommend learning Java and C++ anyway? or is python all i need? what do you prefer personally?
so, Java or Python for CS/ES? Is C++ worth learning besides knowing C#?

do projects, languages are just tools, so pick the least annoying for finishing your current project
for security learn something compiled (C/C++) and some script language (python/js)
but mostly if you will learn and understand basic concepts like networks, software patterns, you will be just fine.
also don't terrorize yourself with DSA, most of the time you won't need to solve such problems most of the time, and for the special case you can always do research
and my personal advice, keep it simple : )

Just make soykaf honestly
Make mini projects in different languages and see which one you find yourself in
Since you just started it's good try things out and see what works for you
