Lainons, please recommend a good text editor (or IDE) that is: - Free and open source - Lightweight - Works on GNU/Linux - Supports Vi motions (IMPORTANT!!) - (Optional) Good for Game Dev (Godot, Love2D, Raylib) - by this I mean support for these languages, autocomplete - (Optional) Support for local LLMs I am tired of Nvim working slowly, and fuarrking with it's configs, and not getting any work done I also tried Helix, but it was uncomfortable after Vi and it doesn't have plugin support VSCodium is good, but it's electron based, therefore slow and RAM intense

You just need a minimal nvim setup that doesn't bug out. Some plugins are perf killers, buggy plugins will also kill perf due errors that delay startup but dont kill nvim. tldr: just cleanup your setup ive done a nvim c++ with lsp & gdb setup last year and it just runs without issues now.

Evil mode for Emacs may be worth checking out. I haven't used it much (when I went from vim -> emacs I just relearned motions) but some hold by it. Alternatively be more selective with your nvim config as stated above.

If you need the modal editing of vi then your only options are vi forks, VSCode with whatever vi plugin they have (never used it, just heard of it) or the glorious window manager, book reader, file sorter, image viewer and whatever the fuarrrk you want Emacs

>>42765 Why not just use Vi or Vim instead of NVim ?
