What are some good resources to learn about multi-core programming?

Look up Joe Armstrong and the work he did with Erlang Programming Erlang - Software for a Concurrent World - 2nd Edition >>39208 How we program multicores - Joe Armstrong https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo5WL5IQAd0

>>42096 https://juliafolds.github.io/Transducers.jl/dev/tutorials/tutorial_parallel/ ^-- I was really impressed by this when I first encountered it a few months ago. They ported the transducer idea from Clojure to Julia, and they added some parallelism to it along the way. This lets you perform CPU-intensive data transformations in a high-level and functional way without having to think about the low-level details. I don't know how they did it, but the source may be worth looking at. https://github.com/JuliaFolds/Transducers.jl

Compare and swap machine code instructions are used to synchronize, to create locks & prevent multiple threads rewriting the same memory areas at the same time. Anonymous memory mapped files can be used to share memory between different processes as an alternative to standard multi-threading - which has the whole address space shared between the threads.
