Currently daily driving librewolf with a tor proxy. I use the tor browser occasionally for activities i genuinely want to hide. Does using the tor proxy in librewolf mean that my tor browser activities can be linked with my normal everyday librewolf usage?

No. It's all over. The cops will arrive soon.

If you make a different librewolf profile your activity should be separated and not leak. >about:profiles don't make the mistake of using the firefox profiles menu in the 3 bars, that's not the same thing, go to about:profiles directly even if the GUI doesn't reflect your changes afterwards. Beyond that it's a matter of OPSEC.

>>94472 It's technically more possible to deanon someone that way yeah, it depends on whatever other privacy tools you are using and what you're covering... Really if you can't figure out privacy on your own, you shouldn't be using tor. Because if you don'can't be confident in your own actions, it means you are liable to make big mistakes that shred it.

>>94474 >that's not the same thing Really? I was under the impression that they were, they're literally stored in the exact same place the profiles made with about:profile are stored

>>94472 >Does using the tor proxy in librewolf mean that my tor browser activities can be linked with my normal everyday librewolf usage? it depends. who would be trying to track you in this scenario? disable javascript if you can. or better yet, download the page with curl or wget and then open it offline. modern browsers have so many features and bullshit that trying to resist fingerprinting is always going to be a losing battle. these things are have millions of lines of code, there is a lot of things going on think about it this way, the attacker has all the time in the world to figure out a vector, you, on the other hand, don't want to spend more than 15 minutes thinking about this. and the attacker only needs to "succeed" once, you need to parry every single attempt at fingerprinting at every single opportunity

Interesting conundrum though. But then the more you try to block the vast array of internet sniffers, the less you can browse it because so many companies use anti-crawlers. The best way I think to scramble your overall online profile is to look normal person for a lot of things and really limit your secret activities in scope and frequency, use the necessary tools very sparsely when needed. The more you look like others the more you blend in and add noise.
