I have an extreme desire to learn more about the medical profession, and biology insofar as it relates to it. I wanted to be in medicine forever, but wasn't good enough in school and had more of a talent for programming, but I'd like to be involved in the field even in a sideline way by working on medical applications of technology.
I have ideas for things I might do project-wise, like I have a bit of a draft for an EEG device to dip into biosignals, but I feel like I need to get up to speed with some real knowledge, from the fundaments.
So anyone who knows about this sort of thing, what are the best textbooks in regards to medicine, medical technology or instrumentation, and relevant biology? What sort of topics does one need to study apart from these? In which order did you approach them in your studies?
