Finding great forums

How can I find interesting forums about computer science, math or hacking? Do you have some suggestions for me?

search for topics, add "forum". look at irc channels that are interesting. literally lurk in places where people go (like discord. yes discord, get over it). ask around. forums and such tend to specialize, so look for that. also note slow ≠ dead.

It depends on the culture you're looking for. If you don't mind mainstream transphilia, then it's gonna be easy to find.

what's a good method for finding ircs? forums are too dead for anything meaningful, usually i'd prefer fediverse instances which I also find hard to find. Any tips?
