Devving an imgboard software

The Phantom Phreak · 2025-12-06 20:11
Hello I am currently searching for someone who knows perl/CGI better than I do to assist or be a dev in tinkering with software, primarily wakaba, which I intend to extend the features of but lack the wisdom to do so. This is for the site world2ch.net, if that means anything. I hope to acquire an actual dev instead which is sorely lacked, however if one is not obtained then using this thread for the development will be fine. Thanks

Does anyone here even know perl?

>>90066 I suggest embracing something more modern and actually developer friendly such as Go. Perl is too stuck in the past and let's be serious, its syntax is not something you'd like to use everyday.

>>90091 I rarely use lainchan, what does soykaf mean again? >>90084 I like perl and the site has traditionally run on it(dumb reason, I know). There is a fork of wakaba called "glaukaba" that pretty much overhauled it with just about every feature you could want, this is what I intend to use. It was last updated in 2013 so it is relatively new by perl standards, but the creator left it a little messy which prevents me from using it to its full avail. This is the part I need help with.

>>90097 Soykaf means soy-caffeine, but here it's used to replace the word referring to excrement, because the taste of soykaf is similar.

>>90099 I like the implication that whoever made the world filter tasted both.
