Was browsing Endchan late last night and stumbled on a thread buried in/b https://endchan.org/b/res/72450.html OP was talking about some old onion called CypherWrks, the kind of post you expect to be bullshit, but it didn’t read like that. More like someone genuinely poking at something forgotten.
He said the onion (that kcmykvkk… whatever string) used to load a barebones page with the name CypherWrks. I tried the clearnet domains he mentioned. All dead or parking pages. Only cypherwrks.org loads, and it’s this sterile static site.
There’s a /Proteus directory with a few text files dated “Oct 2025.” According to OP, they mentioned stuff like filtrations and some of that content was supposedly on the clearnet version too, but part of it vanished sometime recently.
The Endchan replies went wild but gave zero answers, mix of “ARG lol,” “AI pastebin,” and people claiming they remember something but not providing soykaf. The whole thing had this weird SCP-adjacent vibe, mixed with that off-kilter energy from Hausu, the Japanese movie.
Just putting this here in case anyone actually knows what CypherWrks was supposed to be, because Endchan clearly didn’t.What the hell was CypherWrks supposed to be? Anyone got old mirrors, screencaps, or any clue about the Proteus files before they got scrubbed?
Feels like one of those internet ghosts that leaves just enough behind to make you doubt you imagined it. Makes me wonder if the site was actually part of something, or if we all just walked into a glitch someone forgot to clean up.
