This is kind of an off-brand thread for this site but idk where else to turn to at this point since the internet has had 0 solutions for this other than "hurr durr its thermal throttling" or "you need to install older drivers"
In spots where I get 22 fps on the 630m the 4000 gets 26, in spots where I get 39fps on the 630m, the 4000 gets 50
This is stupid, there's only 88% GPU utilization on the 630m and the FPS barely changes whether I'm at 1080p or 720p. Actual terascale 1 tier drivers going on, I have tried 6 different sets of drivers and nothing changed
My laptop is one of those soykafty setups where the dGPU feeds its output through the iGPU so that might be some kind of bottleneck? I've seen stuff like this happen when setting up relatives laptops that have those dreadful amd dual gpu setups where the dGPU is slower than the iGPU in some games
The 630m is a much faster GPU than the 4000, I tested w minecraft because it takes 5 minutes to pirate and the 630m gets around 2.5x more fps than the 4000. I'm not going to run the iGPU either because it runs far hotter than the dGPU

Envy DV6 7206tx
Windows 8.1 Embedded Industry Pro
Drivers tried: 372.90, 342.01, 301.42, 334.89, 368.39
i7 3632QM, GT630m + HD 4000, 8gb DDR3 1600, 2gb DDR3 @1100mhz. GPU/CPU temps at mid 80's with no throttling
Latest version, which is 1.44
Yes, these laptops have horrific stock thermal paste and need to have their hinges relubricated
Yes
Power profiles arent throttling the CPU or GPU
I'm also using the GOG offline version of the game so there's no launcher overhead, setting the process affinity in task manager makes 0 difference, its for sure a GPU bottleneck but there isn't full GPU utilization.
Yes I'm using windows 8.1, good luck getting decent performance out of Fermi on Linux. Especially as everything relies on Vulkan these days which Fermi doesn't support at all
