They're the same as the developer builds, but the Servo devs have decided to make them official monthly releases.
>inb4 rust
This is one of the few non-meme rust projects because it started out with using rust rather than embedding itself into another project.

ladybird is better.

yeah ladybird is also an awesome project however it's unwise to put it in a browser wars standpoint! Both these projects are valuable, and each one contributing with different ideas is great! It's better for them to work together against the blink monopoly as each one working against.

didn't it start as a rust rewrite of gecko?
Servo's cool, and it would be neat to have a basic browser built on top of it. Maybe something qutebrowser.

There also is Orion which supposedly they will open source eventually but not holding my breath on that. What if someone combined code from Ladybird and Servo? Would that be a way to get something more usable faster or just be a code mess?

why need both when you can just use Pale Moon?

Goanna (Pale moon's engine) is a fork of Gecko, and iirc they do backport a bunch of security stuff from Firefox. Still a good web browser though.

Both projects can and should exist.

I'm quite excited for servo. I would love to see a browser that's easily embedable into a project. I'm aware of webkitgtk, but well, webkitgit. There's also the qt browser engine but that's chromium which we dont need more of.
As for Ladybird, I'm not hoping for the embedded aspect as much, but more of a complete internet suite with rss, ftp, etc... Along with good user customization like userStyles.css

OP here, just tried 0.0.3. Feels more snappy but still very rough around the edges; comes with its own in-house file picker too! Unfortunately, posting does not work (ended up posting from Librewolf) and Servo feels zoomed in versus the other browsers I have installed.
