Software for mass purging accounts

Lain Iwakura · 2025-08-26 15:51
Over the years I've created accounts on a bunch of websites and platforms. In order not to leave my precious data hostage on some random ass website, I'd want to purge any old accounts I had (that I have a list of). As I understand, it's difficult to automate since there's no standard way to locate the "Delete Account" button, some don't even have it and you have to email the site admins. I wonder if there's any kind of automated script already that would login, crawl settings and find "Delete Account" and do it automatically. So far I've been doing it manually, which is a bit time consuming.

>>88347 Unfortunately it's a massive pain in the ass to delete accounts en-masse. You can use https://backgroundchecks.org/justdeleteme/ to get instructions/links for a handful of sites, but some places just will not let go of your data. EA, for example, wouldn't wipe my account even after several attempts to get in touch with their help desk.

i wonder if you could make money with a business that deletes of reduces the customers' internet footprints? there seems to be a demand for it.

>>88347 TL;DR: There is nothing you can do, just live with it. - For websites you can do it manually with the help of https://justdeleteme.xyz/, some website do not delete all your data (e.g. Discord, Reddit) you have to delete everything by hand or with external programs like https://redact.dev (I never used it). - For data brokers https://yourdigitalrights.org/, https://databrokerswatch.org/ and https://inteltechniques.com/workbook.html (all manual) - For credentials leaks https://inteltechniques.com/exposure.html

Hijacking this thread to ask, I can't delete all of my accounts since I deleted the email that was linked to them, but would data poisoning be enough to get people off my track? I've done some pretty shady stuff with accounts that link back to me like talking about DN services and light vandalism, nothing highly illegal from what I can remember though. Would data poisoning be enough to get rid of at least some suspicion? I need something that I know 100% will link back to me so I thought about creating a 4ccuk account to soykaf on privacy respecting services ex: Tor (I'm not 100% certain that 4chan will log everything for easy access) or perhaps >reddit since they should be better at logging, I'm not sure what can I do over there to seem like a regular citizen though. Any tips?

>>88347 >>88355 Redact gets rate limited on Discord. AFAIK after the account deletion, DMs get erased, but public discord messages stay.

>>88356 Your data, accounts, IP addresses that were used to register them, along with your behavioral data is already appended to your profile along with all your other accounts, incl. google, microsoft, apple, xitter, reddit, etc. and stored in a faraway data center.

>>88361 I'm aware, my question was if I could LARP as a normal person so I can avoid standing out if any government-mandated background checks are done on me. I know that the past of my accounts will always tie back to me but I was asking if I could do some damage control to seem "rehabilitated". I don't think that I can get jailed for anything that I've said but it will raise some flags.

>>88366 Outright horrifying, devoid of context. As for deletion, my strategy is to use my password manager to make sure i don't forget old stray accounts, and to look up how to do it, to save myself the trouble of stumblinh around and THEN looking it up. My logic is that the saved time for all the websites that hide account deletion should add up to more than the time for the ones that I hypothetically would've found faster solo. If I'm feeling lazy but get an e-mail from something i forgot to delete, I star it and come back later.

>>88354 All youtubers here are doing paid promotion of Incogni which seems to be exactly that : a service that looks for data you've let on the internet and delete them for you. I have no idea if this is worth it. I've heard it's working for people tjhat leaves lot of data everywhere. As I'm very careful where I let data and what data I give, for the moment I'm not interested for that service.
