I'm considering moving my onionsite to the clearweb so I can interact with normal people, but I really want to stay pseudononymous.
Back when I interacted with the privacy community a lot, I'd keep hearing about new ways data can leak, like imei, mac addresses, browser fingerprinting, exif data, writing style, and telemetry in different software. It's been a while, and all my knowledge is out of date now. My web hosting setup looks good to me, but you guys probably know a lot that I don't.
About my setup, it's a static site hosted on cloudflare with a spare email. My registrar (DreamHost) has my personal information through billing and WHOIS, and it seems like I'll just have to trust them here. It has WHOIS protection.
Is this setup good? Are there ways other people have been deanonymized that I should pay attention to?

Lol

You can use njalla and some other domain providers that anonymize whois info, if you'd like to further separate your identity from your website you move it over to a provider that accepts monero (or other forms of crypto)
til lainchan derezzed the word cu ck lmao, jannies must be sensitive glitterboys

I'm no expert but can't you just register an anonymous LLC and register a domain with the LLC as an extra layer on top of the WHOIS protection?

Yeah then you don't have to register a domain.

I mean, if you want pseudonymous-with-retreat, paragraph below is how to do it. If you want pseudonymous-for-now with an eye on hosting a Personal Name site later, and de-anoning it when it's "ripe" or basically when it doesn't turn to sh1t for long enough, that's what the strategy you have now is for.
Host on places like NeoCities and 5hart pgp signatures for all pages over it... or domain via .TK or modern equivalent... or nerd camp free webhost where they want you to be a human bean that can send and receive emails and that's pretty much it. Can be multiple places, that may help with SEO.
(All set up over Tor.)

neocities might be a good option. I guess I didn't think of them because I'm used to free services being annoying over time. I hosted a website on github for a year before they derezzed the account for looking like a bot. I guess because of that, I view anything hosted on a free service as a temporary website

>anonymized whois info
do they really still put your info there and "anonymize" it after?

Microsoft has an oversensitive system for bot and hacker detection. ive been derezzed multiple times on everything Microsoft owns.

I can't search on github when I'm not logged in. The website complains about too many requests. That's extremely bothersome, makes me dislike the website

>My registrar has my personal information
>Are there ways other people have been deanonymized
You're already deanonymized. You're doing the normal person routine of pretend privacy while a dozen companies and the glowies have your data. Email, payments, cloudflare, registrar, it's over. If you want anonymity, that's done over Tor and paid with XMR.
>cloudflare
Not only do you not have privacy, now your users don't have it either.

GitHub disables anonymous accounts. Never trust a Microjeet service.

Good times are over, now comes the exploitation of the brand.
