Eternal Loneliness or Glowie Slavery

Mitnick · 2025-05-12 12:03
I rejected all social media all my life and I'm continuing to hate them will all my being. Despite this, i came across a group of people whom i want to contact, and they all use facebook, nothing else. I'm not that guy who expect a dozen people i barely know to just do what i want, even if i'm 100% positive that i am objectively right in this question. So i created a facebook account, and wrote a message to one of the people. I swallowed that i have to give my real phone number, i hate it but did it after some loud cursing. After about the third login, it made me solve a captcha, whatever, i solve a few stupid puzzles if it means i can have friends again. Then it did what made me furious: it started requiring a "video selfie", that is basically a full scan of your head with your phone camera. They literally require a model of you. I started reading, and people say even if i do this, it will soon start to require a photo of my ID card, so asking a homeless person to do the "video selfie" in exchange for some liquor is not enough. It won't let me use the account until i comply with their request. I can't even check if that person replied to my message. Question is: any way to have a dumbfuckbook account i can use, without giving my real personal info, and being afraid that i will disable my account any moment? I really hate it with all my being but i really want to have friends, i'm so lonely and that evil lizardman suckerberg stops me from having friends and makes me eternally lonely. there must be modern bots on facebook right? i'm ready to pay some money in crypto or buy and install a decicated device or something if that somehow allows me to use it without real personal info. Am i fuarrrked forever, having to choose between eternal loneliness and selling my whole soul to the glowies? Please don't tell me "those normalglitterboys are not worthy of being friends if they don't want to install anything else, just find technologically literate friends", because yeah i found people who use software i like, but they never come anywhere, they just sit in front of their computers and never come and have fun outside.

my only regret at not having a facebook account is that it is customary to host local e-waste markets on facebook. they won't let me browse it without an account which is pretty terrible. otherwise i don't care. either submit to the big daddy or choose the hard path and live without friends. after all, if they are unable to comprehend your strife and are unwilling to accept your fight, they aren't really worth it. it's always been like that iirc. you either choose deprivation or suck cocks.

Feel your pain bruz, the fact that its all considered normal now makes me hate that I ever cared about the internet. Maybe you can take some solace in the idea you're maintaining some level of greyman camouflage by being on the normal person database. Its cope but its as the other anon said...seems to be the universal price of entry for doing things now :(
Joe Bloggs · 2025-05-12 18:36
Op here and what makes me cry is that why normalfriends won't use telegram? It's just as normalful, has a closed cloud based network , glowniggers can see into it, especially now with the AI client side niggerdom, it takes no more than 2 taps to install and use, it's totally norm user tier, almost everybody uses it in russia, so why can't other europeans use it too? They usually already have dozens of active apps on their phones, one more wouldn't hurt. On the other hand, it doesn't require any info besides my phone number, and it has an open source client (actually several of them) on F-Droid. Just fuarrrk THIS SHIT.

I don't have social media. I manage social upkeep by contacting friends directly through either - Signal (some actually have it or willing to try it. I am not a missionary tho so I don't push it on them) - Google Messages / RCS with E2EE. This one even more have without even realizing it through the google messenger app if they have android. You don't need a google account either, it's number based but adds E2EE if it can. In a few months iPhone and android is supposedly working on making RCS with E2EE compatibly also which is great news. - For the rest I use SMS. It's a last resort thing but it's something everyone in my real life will have. For online friends I keep them to a minimum, trying to nurture real life people instead. But if you don't want to give number to people you could technically open a Snapchat account without verifying either number or email (this works)and not enable any app permissions. Atleast for gen z lots use Snapchat. I removed it however limiting my network to fewer but more solid people. Never looked back. If you got gamer friends maybe they have Discord which also is less crazy than Facebook. Not using facebook might seem impossible but really it's mostly about - Not being in group chats (you can access people directly instead) - Not being in local groups Both of these I am happier without. Haven't been on facebook since 2016 and never looked back. Had plenty of friends over the years. I feel more and more people accept not being online-available all the time, there is sort of a counter-movement happening that you can play into. In fact I've started leaving the phone at home all together even when going to social events. If I know the place and time it turns out it's way more effortless than you'd think. >eternal loneliness or selling soul to glowies Such a false dichotomy. You can do normal reasonable compromises such as the ones I listed. For messaging selfie scans is absolutely avoidable. That type of thing is only hard to avoid when opening a crypto cex account or something like that, going through airports etc. Even then there are ways.

>>86324 I want marketplace but I'm unwilling to do what you mentioned so I just do without. You could try buying a facebook account that's already established. ID requirements are a hard no from me personally though and I'm not sure if they will require a update evey now and then. The fact normgroids put up with this is the real crime
Ender · 2025-06-02 04:58
>>86324 if you have cash money just buy accounts. if you were wise you should have had a facebook account registered for the longest time even if it's a meme account. if you are desperate just make a new account posing as an underage vtuber put some pictures or drawings you made or gachalife stuff, I think facebook won't touch you if you're a child because it violates the extensive anti-datamining privacy laws and also it gives off a bad image on them (whereas stuff like discord won't do that). facebook is pretty tame though and the app works well. just suck it and make your personal account, they already know anyways if you use home internet and your family shared the same IP as you you can't escape it, their google-apple synced contacts already out you, your "hardened" phone also mean nothing as there is extensive exposure notification and wifi beacons that happen spontaneously for ID-ing purposes which doubles as anti-fraud for things like messenger and other apps and they have the very incentive to do so in verifying your identity as they offer ads and sell to advertisers and their systems namely google's or facebook's which both model their revenue on ad markets is they do identification or anti-fraud to make sure their "clicks/hits" for clients aren't fake or bots. It doesn't matter really unless you're like Julian or McAfee who knows some stuff. "dumbfuckbook" account is great and lets you access marketplace where you can find gold in the cheap (I mean you can even find stuff like amiga or something rare, one time I purchased laptops in bulk and 80% of them still worked after some tinkering with cmos). forced video-selfie and ID happens if you're reported or they detected "dark user patterns" on your wpm/cpm mismatches your identity (say you made a account for 60 year old dude) and even things like scroll areas, the content of your words, the accounts you click etc. it's complex but you get the drift and I'll let you in more knowledge - most services and devices (major ones, apple, google, reddit) use something called stylometry and behavioral biometrics aka active authentication. they can identify your "usage DNA" the way you scroll and the way you behave on screen this is why sites like reddit are godslow on dualcore toasters as they are actively authenticating who you are even on incognito/private browser. read more on this on lex fridman's wiki page, it was in his Thesis and was the secret catalyst of the big botnet interestingly although don't hate the guy - someone else would do it anyways as that is just how humanity unfolds.

>>86664 also more detail on messenger, messenger also scans the entire network subnet of your home and ID's the mac addresses, chrome and steam(which has chrome engine/browser too) leaks your device ID and hardware non-removable lan mac address! for ID-ing purposes*, exposure notification already mapped your entire world for the devices where they are located where you are located even if you just installed /e/lineagecalyxgraphene even if you own a vertu with torbot you can't escape if you skimp on minor details. the SS7 leaks your sms and calls for all eyes and rogues to see, at the very least things like facebook implemented device ID linked logins so it can securely prevent any kind of intrusion unlike other devices that rely on SMS verification (read SS7 is itself pwned hxxps://www.veritasium.com/videos/2025/1/17/exposing-the-flaw-in-our-phone-system ) and yes there is no need to be "sad" that your protected opsecglittery has been ruined. the new ones that follow you or our new generation can follow the memetic minset so long as we nostalgically sell this idea to them or the mindset that it is somehow something like a great cause but that idea is very intrusive heh. also make the most out of it. I have quit the opsec meme but know all the bounds and plan to make a geocities-like blog sometime to list all of my findings. I just now expand my horizons and use the power of algorithm to personalize and use it to the fullest not use me - my facebook/yt/other timelines serve me well and educate me but I still keep my lain-line algorithm alive but recently there isn't much more to learn anymore. as for the algorithms they are a reflection of you, if you don't skip the brainrot it means you didn't and you will get it more, be sure to shape your self well before introducing yourself to modern-day advanced algorithms which can feedback loop into your development which most people only developed a taste for brainrot which is quite alarming.

>In one of my required college classes, a small part of our grade was having a linkedin account and marketing ourselves - never had it, took the 0, and got a worse letter grade >Another aspect of college, when I was talking to someone, they asked me what was my Instagram, and I told them I don't have one and they immediately asked what was wrong with me and went out to permanently dislike me >A big part of college is parties and social events where having your phone and posting everything/relating over social media is what makes you cool >Everyone is using chatgpt and AI and cheating on assignments and everyone pretends they are not (even the professors) What the fuarrrk are these dystopian concentration camp indoctrination centers training me for? Everyone fakes themselves and cheats on everything - fuarrrk this world.

Reading all your comments and the similar >>>/Δ/12669 thread, it's depressing. It is like kicking dead whales down the beach living in a world where this isn't a fictional dystopian story, where people aren't smart enough to realize the absurdly unbalanced deals big tech offer. The equivalent of colonists giving Native Americans cheap shiny trinkets in exchange for gold. >>86647 >>eternal loneliness or selling soul to glowies >Such a false dichotomy. Let's be clear, the problem is Facebook forcing people to submit to be their used or face social isolation, about the worst psychological punishment a human being can suffer, it causes permanent physical damage. The solution is simple, lawmakers should force Facebook to be interoperable. Facebook has deep pockets for lobbying and the state depends on them for that sweet citizen data, there's no way it'll get solved while useds are as ignorant as they are. Oh, it's a very real dichotomy. Praise your luck if it wasn't for you so far. Most people, groups, businesses only exist on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, iMessage, some exploitative surveillance platform. normal people will resent OP for confusing their brain with another app, label him a weirdo or plain ignore him and he'll miss out on human connections, friendships, experiences, if he doesn't let himself get exploited that is. You're dabbing on victims of what should be highly illegal business practices because you managed to get out of the trap. Louis Rossmann made a video on this "Ha-ha I was faster than you" attitude a few days ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7PypubG3e0 >>86665 >messenger also scans the entire network subnet of your home and ID's the mac addresses Native and web apps can and do connect to LAN and localhost IP:ports. If a phone app requests the local network permission to be granted like I've seen TikTok and Teams do, this is often why. uBlock Origin has a "Block Outsider Intrusion into LAN" filter list that blocks most of it. >there is no need to be "sad" that your protected opsecglittery has been ruined I'll save would-be privacy enthusiasts some time. There is practically no privacy on smartphones, on any proprietary OS, on any OS with proprietary software on it, including proprietary JavaScript. Doesn't matter what VPN and encrypted privacy apps you use, assume fingerprinting and data collection punches through it all. If you somehow avoid running spyware, your counterparty (web service, friend with a smartphone) will take care of the spying for you. Unless you're an expert, Tor Browser and other darknet software on clean Linux or BSD are the only things that work. >algorithms they are a reflection of you We don't know what they do, they are a reflection in part and they can also mix in subtle bias and propaganda. Their only objective is serving as many ads as possible, there are many equally addictive branches of content that solve this.

>>86686 >dabbing on victims of what should be highly illegal business you are implying we should lobby for change, persuade politicians. what a complete waste of time build and use alternatives instead and when you need access certain walled gardens use workaround to access its people/content. it's always about the people/content. the actual platform tech is never why you're there >because you managed to get out of the trap and i teach others how to get out too use encryption and cryptographic cash to guarantee your basic freedoms. code is a much better law than whatever a government can offer
John Doe · 2025-06-06 18:56
I'm pretty sure what some of those fake accounts do is to buy large bulks of hacked facebook accounts, or to offer to buy some lowlifes their biometrics and photos of their IDs.

>>86324 >Question is: any way to have a dumbfuckbook account i can use, without giving my real personal info, and being afraid that i will disable my account any moment? I really hate it with all my being but i really want to have friends, i'm so lonely and that evil lizardman suckerberg stops me from having friends and makes me eternally lonely. You misidentify the problem. You think it is "I need to use facebook but it asks for my private info, how do I use it anyway?" Your true problem is "I want to make friends, how do I do it?" I've found a very strange phenomena. Yes, I agree it is more difficult to make friends without social media.. it seemed so at first. Due to loneliness, I came to lainchan seeking advice on this, and read a few books on how to socialize. Nothing worked. But as soon as I stopped trying, in fact when I resolved to completely give up actively making friends, the most curious thing happened. New friends just fell into my lap left right and centre, without any effort. I encounter people who I simply hit it off with. >Please don't tell me "those normalglitterboys are not worthy of being friends if they don't want to install anything else, just find technologically literate friends", because yeah i found people who use software i like, but they never come anywhere, they just sit in front of their computers and never come and have fun outside. It is fine if other people use social media. You can befriend people nonetheless. Here's a strange truth that I've observed. The majority of people (especially young) actively dislike social media. Think about the common discourse of social media, the terrible company reputations, the trends of 'social media detoxing'. Very few people actually like social media. Everyone else are just victims to social pressure. Once at a NYE party I talked to a friend's friend about social media, and how much he hates his 'scrolling' yet he feels he has to stay on it. I told him he doesn't have to, told him how I stopped and he can as well, and he really listened to that and felt something about it. He didn't follow through unfortunately, not everyone will. But some will! These feelings are way more common than you might think. You strike me as simultaneously misanthropic and demeaning of others, yet caught by the loneliness bug. I was in this state too a while back... Fix one of the two and the tension is resolved. Kicking out the loneliness bug is what I tried first, and can attest was far too difficult for me to achieve. The easiest route is to drop the misanthropy and take people as they are. Are you not imperfect too? There is no point comparing your imperfections and that of others, with phrases such as 'but at least I don't X!' or 'at least I X instead of Y like they do', etc. A summary of what I want to get across. >Do not compromise yourself with Facebook, it won't solve anything anyway, and you will stay bought into the system. >Try be less misanthropic, and be more receptive of other people as they are. >It may not help to actively try make friends, it may be like trying to catch a feather, that moves aside just as you try grasp it, but will readily fall into your hand by it doing nothing but waiting in the right place. >If your social skills are poor, best way to improve them is talk to strangers in idle places (i.e public transport) who don't have headphones or phone, etc. People appreciate those moments, even if they're too nervous to make it themselves. I find older blokes appreciate it most. >Understand that even if you do make friends, this may not completely solve your feelings of emptiness. Though I have many friends, I can't say I'd depend on them with my life. A long-term romantic partner fills this feeling best. I've dealt with this problem for the last four years by myself, and this is part of what I learned in that time. These days, I feel mostly satisfied, but like I said, sometimes dissatisfaction comes from other places. I'm working on coming to peace with the idea that life always generates dissatisfaction and tension even if everything is good, we often generate it within ourselves.

>>86758 Addendum! Don't do it regularly, but it can help to do this a few times. Go to a bar, get drunk enough that you'll blabber like an idiot but can still walk straight. Talk to someone random. It's a bad way to make friends, and you may not improve your social skills much, but there is a useful effect. You get to observe yourself talking to other people; you observe how you could speak if you let your guard down more, stopped over-analyzing (if you have this problem), you observe peoples reactions to the things you say. More often than not, the thing you would otherwise hesitate to say, did not have the earth-shattering effect your monkey brain said it would.
Technician · 2025-06-07 06:41
>>86758 How did you improve your social skills? I'm nearing 30 and I can talk to people, i have a wide range of knowledge and hobbies, computers, ufc, animals, war. These are enough to get by in a work environment where people have to be nice but I still come off as autistic. I want to learn to joke with random people. IIt takes me knowing someone for like 6 months before i can consistently joke around with them and make them laugh.
Elliot Alderson · 2025-06-07 09:35
>>86761 nta, but practice. In public places there's plenty of strangers, cashiers, etc. who will forget about you immediately, look for any absurdity in the moment around you and see if you an make them laugh. Perhaps even create the absurdity yourself.
