Hello fellow lainers (lol). I am facing a big problem. I only have access to membrane keyboards, i got a new one recently and i really like it. However, the backspace key is unusually stiff on the edges of they key. Pressing down in the edges with my pinky takes a very uncomfortable amount of force. I opened the area below the key and it looks clean, i really need help with this as i write a lot. Enjoy the new place to discuss about membrane keyboards.

How you can only have access to a particular type of keyboard? Monsgeek Fun60s are on sale on aliexpress right now. Ridiculous prices for hall effect / TMR keyboards.

>>85252 >Hall Effect keyboard I have a difficult time understanding why anyone would actually want this. The whole point of a keyboard is to be a digital input device, with an unmistakable, unambiguous difference between on and off.

this is a problem with the movement mechanism, not the actuation. you can try adding lube to the hinges, or if there are any other keys the same size as the backspace key you can try swapping them.

>>85257 Tactile switches, including membrane, send an unnatural sonic shockwave through the fingers. It causes damage to the finger joints over time. I can't type on tactile switches anymore without experiencing a lot of pain in my first finger joints. There is a type of keyswitch that is very digital and which doesn't generate shockwaves. Breaking a magnetic contact activates the switch. It's used on the svalboard and the void: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtV3Wp1mdSE

what do you even mean by "only have access to membrane keyboards" ?

>>85514 Maybe he's saying this because mechanical keyboards are expensive.
