>>83221 A Playstation Portable maybe? A quick search shows that it has a few Armored core games available for it

There's too many to just recommend one... go watch some Retro Game Corps on Youtube. Personally my choice handheld is the Anbernic RG35XXSP, but honestly after going through a few generations of these retro handhelds I haven't used it much.

>>83225 PSP Go would be perfect. Fits snug in a pocket. Its smaller than most smartphones.

>>83221 For a small, inexpensive Game Boy-type device that you can play the original Armor Core on, you would likely be best off with the Anbernic 353V. That is one of the most portable devices in the Game Boy form factor that has two sticks, runs Android (giving you more flexibility and the ability to connect to Wi-Fi unlike some of the cheaper Linux based devices, though there is an option to boot into Linux instead of Android for an OS with less overhead), and has more than enough processing power to play Playstation 1 games. Anbernic has a few other devices that that are bigger and more powerful in the original Game Boy format, but the 353V is a solid option to emulate less demanding systems without carrying around a literal brick. If you want a clamshell device, you might check Ali Express or Ebay for the Retroid Pocket Flip. It's just barely powerful enough to do some limited GameCube emulation (Melee seems to run fine, Mario Sunshine, nowhere near as well) and should run PS1 games very well. Has a much bigger battery than the previously mentioned device as well. Another option (if liked the Game Boy Advance Micro's design) is the Ayaneo Pocket Micro. It is probably one of the most portable devices that has pretty solid processing power behind it. It's powerful enough that it runs most GameCube games pretty well, and, like the two aforementioned devices, has two sticks, benefitting some PS1 and N64 games.

I would buy a game controller, if you already have Android phone. Something that looks similar to Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. I heard that Bluetooth game controllers have input lag, so avoid those! Something like Easymx M10 or Gamsir -something maybe? Disclaimer: I don't own one.
