ITT post your current project

I'm working on a solar charging battery backup system so that I can power my WiFi AP and router (or other devices) even when there is not power. I'm currently designing the power stage. I'm constantly changing what I want this project to be, this is my 3rd iteration of the power stage. fuarrrk. Anyway what are other lainons working on?

>>82982 Hi. Your project is very nice. You seem like a pro in electronics, could you please help me? On my schematic drawing, I1 would be a constant current source, passing around 0.5mA through R2, which is a resistor with unknown resistance. (actually a sensor, resistance is 100Ohm +- a few Ohm based on the value measured). So i would like to automatically measure its resistance, therefore i would pass through constant current and measure the voltage drop. But for less than a mA of current, the voltage drop is in the few dozens of millivolts range, which is too tiny for my ADC to measure reliably. So i would like to amplify it, to be a little below 3.3Vs. Would an operational amplifier applied like on the picture be capable of doing it? If yes, what rules or formulas would help me to choose R3 to amplify the voltage drop n times the original (where n is known and preferrably chosen by me)? If not, could you please advise me something that would be able to do what i described.

>>82995 maybe a dumb question but what exactly does widevine do? how can it possibly protect something if its on the client side? or is it just obfuscated bullshit to make it harder?

>>83003 > maybe a dumb question but what exactly does widevine do? Not a dumb question at all. Widevine L3 is a software only version of Widevine DRM, and displays the media at a certain resolution. Widevine L1 uses a trusted execution enviornment within the client device to decrypt and play the content, and does not limit the content resolution. Source: https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Widevine > how can it possibly protect something if its on the client side? It can't. Encryption (in theory). The server sends a stream of encrypted data to the client side, and the client decrypts it in some way and displays it. Of course, the client has to decrypt the data and display it at some point, which is when you can grab it. > or is it just obfuscated bullshit to make it harder? It's just obfuscated bullshit to make it harder. There are even HDMI splitter devices that will decrypt Widevine for you. They seem to mainly be used for capturing gameplay from PS3's since that console uses Widevine for some reason. That said, the security on Widevine encryption has been broken in the past. The Wikipedia page has some firther reading on this: https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Widevine#Security >>82995 > Writing a cdm to rip L3 and L1 widevine content Sounds interesting, could you post a link to your work when you finish?

>>82982 3 days ago I finally finished rewriting the "engine" of a retained mode GUI library I'm working on called "Cassette". And it features some custom features not found elsewhere. For example, smart corners : a theming option in which the corners of a widget can automatically adapt to match their parent's or the window's like in pic related). New major release (the 2nd) should arrive in a 2-3 of weeks now, after I've implemented ~10 basic widgets.

>>83218 Those shadows are very satisfying, lainon. where are you releasing the project?
Y.T · 2025-01-24 10:42
>>83236 Thanks, here's btw said shadows configured to move relative to widgets and not just per window like on the previous webm. You can find Cassette here : https://github.com/fraawlen/cassette or here : https://codeberg.org/fraawlen/cassette However, the webms I posted are made using the 0.2 version on the "rewrite" branch. But the main branch can do 2nd pic related.

>>83239 Pretty cool anon! My taste screams at me that this needs a bit of 3D ridge to avoid falling for the material design trap, but otherwise very nice looking.
Joey · 2025-01-25 23:30
>>83249 Thanks! I did consider having an option to shade border like in the 1st pic. But I ended up setting that aside when I introduced rounded and cut corners. Still I'll probably add that option sometime in the future, albeit it's not my priority. >material design trap My inspiration is not material actually, despite the screenshots I posted, but rather cassette-futurism. I'd like to make a UI that looks like interfaces of old from the early 80's or like 2nd pic (from alien isolation) but with modern functionality. 3rd pic shows kinda where I want to situate my project relative to other UIs. The screenshots I posted before are using a theme that draws all properties of my box-model for all widgets, so that I could see how everything is rendered. But I have yet to finish up the actual default theme.

>>85856 >not 100% technically tech Anon its a mix of electrical, mechanical, probably software engineering if you're messing with the ECU. Metalworking and welding too, if you're making updates If that isn't tech, I don't know what is
