I was using an Optus Branded Huawei made USB Modem for many years, but upcoming removal of 3G coverage demanded an upgrade to a 4G modem.
I got an LTE one from AliExpress but its much wider and bigger than my old Huawei. New modem blocks nearby USB socket on my laptop, preventing me from plugging anything else next to a modem, like a could with Huawei.
Do you know any small enough modems that will not take away extra USB sockets. I tried to search online but results are surprisingly limted.

Don't want to just use a short USB cable so it doesn't block room for other devices?

More hassle with extra items that way. I would rather avoid it if I can.
However nice idea, provided I can find a cable short enough instead of rather bulky 4 ports USB splitter I have now.
