Don't know enough about cameras, need recomendations.

Hello /tech/, I don't know much about cameras and need a recommendation on what camera to buy. My previous camera was a cheap Panasonic Lumix my parents won at a lucky draw (picrel). The new camera needs to be able to take good close up with as much detail as possible, it's okay if it sacrifices every other fancy feature cameras boast. It needs to be cheap. around $200 and needs to be repairable in case I get an emotional attachment to it. My main intent is to use it to take pictures of my rare hotwheels cars as well as strange scenes aesthetically pleasing photographs. (like two birds soykafting on the ground from a top a lamp post). Feel free to drop any lainanon advice regarding using or purchasing the camera.

>>78807 Under $200 is a big ask. You're not going to find anything still functional or that gives better image quality than a cell phone at this price. Realistically, you should expect to spend $500-1000 for a very good condition used camera body and a couple very nice lenses that will do what you want them to do. Lenses can last a lifetime if treated with care. Camera bodies' mechanics wear out over time, ranging from 300k-1m shutter actuations, hence the adage "date the camera, marry the lens". Bodies can be repaired, but oftentimes it costs more than buying a new one so you'll want to buy as nice of a condition (used) as possible. The wisest move is to find a premium, or flagship camera from a couple generations back in a camera system (mount) that is still in production because the used market for bodies and lenses is still plentiful as people upgrade and sell off older gear, and the build quality of older flagship models is generally higher than entry level models. All things considered for you, I recommend a used Fujifilm X-T1, X-T2, or X-T3, the best of these being the X-T3. That camera may be the best price to performance/build quality digital camera ever made. Some people love Fujifilm, some people hate them, but they ARE the best APS-C (crop sensor) cameras out there. They have soykaf autofocus, but they spit out beautiful jpgs, removing the need for editing entirely. Also, you probably cannot afford full frame gear. Also, luckily, the best price to performance lenses for what you want to do are manual focus lenses, rendering the soykafty autofocus point moot. In fact, manual focus is preferable for macro. Huzzah! Macrophotography/closeups for APS-C: –Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x macro lens. This lens is inexpensive, manual focus, and simply The Best macro/product photography lens. It will also double as a short telephoto lens because of the focal length. It is inexpensive brand new at about $400. General purpose/artistic lens: –Samyang/Rokinon 35mm f/1.2 ED AS UMC CS This is low-key the best price to performance normal prime manual focus APS-C lens. A low light beast, completely flat plane of focus (nothing to fix here in editing, hooray!), corner-to-corner sharpness lens (and it's very sharp, allowing crops), that unlike many other lenses in the category is perfectly usable wide open. This one would be good for street, portraits, nighttime/indoors, product, and astro. There are very few reviews of this lens out there, which is weird as hell because it's very, very good. It is inexpensive brand new at $250-500. Look around on KEH, MPB, Adorama, and B&H. Avoid Amazon, Walmart, and such for camera gear because their resellers are just buying things from the former and adding a surcharge.

>>78817 For under 200$ I found an X-A3 and X-A10 for around the same price, a X-T1 at around 300, a X-S1 for slightly less than a 100 or a XT-100 for around 400? Which of these would you say would be the most sturdy?

Definitely buy used, something like what you posted can be found for 20$, for 200$ you can get a nice reflex camera.

>>78851 Which of these >>78850 is a good deal? In case all of them are goods deals, which of them is the best deal?

>>78850 When buying used gear, I stand by my opinion of going for the older "pro" models of cameras in excellent condition over newer entry-level or mid-level bodies. Of those I recommend the X-T1. That is a lovely, classy, well-built photo-centric camera and people are still shooting with it. It's a gem, like the two manual lenses I suggested, and a stellar deal. Go do more research and think about it.

>>78869 That Samyang/Rokinon 35mm f/1.2 is on sale right now at B&H for $170 off retail. Ridiculous deal. Also, the Samyang 12mm f/2 (one of the most praised wide angle lenses for architecture, landscape, and astro) is on sale for $140 off. Note that if considering an older Fuji camera I am steering you towards manual lenses with beautiful optics. This is on purpose. These are old models with terrible autofocus (but great image quality).
