If you really believe in FOSS then instead of just using alternative free platforms you should also actively try to ruin the proprietary mainstream ones(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf.)

There's really no point to doing this besides flailing around in anger hoping to achieve something. Half of the regular users of these websites already do this anyways. Besides, if anything, they're more inclined to take notice when alternative platforms exist at all because it is a drain on their revenue. As the other lainon said, vote with your traffic, I guess.

There's an argument to be made here. The best way to hurt Amazon is not to boycott Amazon. It's to buy something expensive, claim you didn't receive it, and get a refund and a cool new toy. This will cost Amazon a lot of money and at scale will force them to tighten up their policies and get soykaftier to consumers earlier than they were planning to. Contrast this posting naughty videos on Youtube. It costs Youtube nothing. Few people will ever see it. A bot will remove it. It's pissing into the ocean. Unlike this thread which is like pissing in a retention pond.
