how is IPFS gonna work in terms of censorship, i'm genuinely curious. someone in the US in 13 states will not be able to host porn because it doesn't have some magic device to see if a minor is accessing it. someone in russia will not be able to host this and that against the aristocracy. someone in turkey will not be able to host non halal materials. imagine being such a ham fisted retard, that you care about what's being hosted on your node. i couldnt give less fuggs about what's hosted on my node. maybe the freenet approach is better? how will IPFS work? I'm genuinely curious, are you just gonna have a ton of nodes that can't host this, but then anyone else can and so some state's little protest against porn is moot? of course then the police state will just kick in and start busting people for breathing air (hosting a node). this bullshit makes zero fuarrrking sense if you think about it for more than 3 seconds. by the way i've disclosed multiple vulnerabilities in that soykafware in my work, they are laughably easy to find. this seems like the most appropriate place to discuss this since lainnigger is always bringing up this DOA pile of meme soykaf. how is the future web going to work at all, now that the security theater losers won? every second website even on clearnet just glitches while checking if you're a bot or whatever dumb non-concern (real programmers don't make soykaf that falls over from one bot or pentester). its just going to be garbage quality "advice" from a few websites that win out over each other in the competition for virtual real estate. a completely ridiculous concept but thats what the normal users have created. you already cant access diverse music because its illegal to host but nobody is selling it, and everything is locking down, to the point where there will be nowhere on the internet ot get it soon. seems the only solution is the freenet route. global cryptoanarchy. smash your local cctv cameras. well all have to use soykaf like tor bridges even in the west. set up decentralized grid networks to bypass ISP DPI

Isn't freenet already pretty easy to decrypt? What about i2p? I wanna set it up but I never got around to it

I think governments around the world are moving towards increasing the liability of content providers for what they host. In the case of copyrighted content, It has been fairly easy because "intermediary hosts", which depending on definition can include file lockers, VPN providers, torrent indexers, consumer ISPs, etc, were previously not liable for the content they hosted provided they respond to takedown requests. That is changing. Both in the US and the EU (where the Digital Services Act was just passed), but also around the world as services dedicated to copyright infringement in South America and South East Asia are also facing increased pressure from law enforcement. That means it will be difficult to host large IPTV services, file lockers, seedboxes, etc in the future. I think the trend will be a move towards smaller private sites that don't attract the attention of copyright holders and don't represent a single easy target that cuts off content for a large number of people. Worst case scenario IMO is a retvrn back to the flea-market era of piracy, except with high-quality rips on USB sticks instead of 600MB DivX cams on CDs.

In order to have a free internet, the people need to have control over the grid. If they don't, then they can be arbitrarily denied service. If we can have a world where every common person uses some decentralized network that'd be cool, but that's unrealistic in my opinion. So the overall grid should be seized. That requires political change, and not necessarily political change from within the system. Regardless, constitutions will need amending so these bullshit schemes will not be as likely to reoccur. In the meantime, trying to disconnect from the grid at large is a viable option. People could form their own meshnets as you said, people could broadcast digital streams to each other over radio, in fact one such project exists (I don't remember the name of it because it is developed mainly for and by people using spyware like iPhone and soykaf, but the point is that it is a feasible option). Those are some places to begin. I really believe that placing more investment and faith into the internet is not a solution anymore, that's all that I see people doing, even with stuff like Tor and Freenet. The Freenet approach when projected off into the dark future is basically a series of torch-passing, you have one guy carry the torch of information, he lights some other guys torch, then gets fuarrrking smited and banished into prison, and the new guy with his torch runs along to try and light other people and the process continues. This is batshit insane, it's masochistic, not a solution at all. Can it keep stuff alive? Sure, but it goes nowhere. Just staying alive isn't a good if you're squirming while a boot gets pressed down on your neck. Using bullshit "privacy solutions" is not an option, and I think they should be decried e.g using XMPP to communicate with people on a _smartphone_, this is dumb and decadent. Use encrypted radio to communicate with loved ones and anyone you are close enough with who is willing to participate, there are cheap chips that can operate off of computers. If you're not using XMPP to contact people you know in real life, then you're addicted to your smartphone, you can just use XMPP on your computer at home. Then of course that leads into people's dependency upon the overall system, needing an email/phone, of course there is the approach of making a long-term withdrawal from the system, wherein you systematically disengage from using certain technologies as you gain the ability, until you finally work yourself into a position in life where you don't need any of the bullshit like email and a phone in order to sustain your existence. The issue is a lot of people tell themselves they "have" to use email/phone, when they don't, they have to use it in order to have what they want in life, what feels good, but what feels good is only what feels good right now, and is not what is truly good for them. So they need to have that truth shown to them. But if the remainder of people continue using this garbage -which they realistically will, what can be done then? Because we're just gonna basically be sitting in the backseat while these idiots drive us off of a cliff. Communes can be raided, decentralized grids could be outlawed of course, and so the resistance can be stomped out. It is very important for any resistance to be coherent and comprehensive, it's crucial. I don't know, we're all in a very bad position, people are just too fuarrrking stupid, and not in terms of sheer intelligence i.e processing power, they're just too shortsighted and gullible and fall for all of these restrictions that serve to steal away our rights. If we just keep trying to hide away ineffectively, we are all gonna wind up as techno-slaves. So there cannot be any ineffective means of combating these issues, hiding is not the solution. The objective reality should be one where we don't need to hide away our usage of technologies that allow us to anonymously and freely use the internet. And one where we can speak freely. People need to place more investment into the people in their immediate surroundings, and work to form networks with people in real life, and educate others. I have considerably less faith in our existing solutions. Tails is alright for normal people, but worthless against any serious adversaries, but there is Whonix as an alternative (but that is becoming bloated). Tor was created for the purpose of allowing the USG to conduct clandestine activities over the internet, in order for the USG to be able to use Tor effectively requires that the masses also use it, and so it was designed in a manner that would make it very appealing to the masses thanks to its low latency, and transversely the low latency combined with metadata would allow the USG to monitor their own communications occurring on the network since they have the ability to track activity on the network to a fair degree, particularly when the communications are routed through their servers, and obviously all of their intelligence network comms will go through their own nodes. Tor doesn't protect us from the NSA, and I dislike this. I want to have an anonymizing network secure enough that even an entity like the NSA will struggle to observe its communications. But Tor doesn't offer that, and it never will because the developers have no interest in changing Tor so as to make that possible, and that is because Tor is purposed toward the maintenance of the USG's power structure. All of the anonymity we get is just a happy coincidence. They provided the masses with the illusion of freedom in order to keep them docile, in exchange for all of the power to destabilize regimes that step out of the global hegemony. Not like this is a conspiracy, everyone knows this but nobody actualizes this truth. And don't even start with the Tor fanboying, I torify all my internet traffic, I can acknowledge its flaws. The foundations that are purposed towards protecting our civil liberties, and maintaining our software are mostly farces. I know because I've spent a lot of time researching all the biggest organizations, and literally all of them are worthless. The vast majority of privacy/security organizations only exist to provide Big Tech with secure environments, and the means behind Big Tech attaining security for itself has consisted of nothing more than the destruction of our nanonymity. These organizations basically achieve nothing and serve to project the illusion that there are people out there protecting our rights in order to keep us calm and thus docile. The valid nanonymity projects e.g Tor, Whonix, Tails, I2P, Lokinet, varied linux & bsd distros are all in the minority when it comes to donations. I mean who the fuarrrk even donates to the IAPP, or the Linux Foundation which gives only AT MOST 3.4% of its hundreds of millions to the linux kernel, who the fuarrrk donates to these organizations? Not normal people. It's just corporations giving them money, and where do they get their money from? By raping normal people of their data. They're just recycling all of their currency which is based upon nothing to begin with. I mean does the linux kernel even require all that much money in order to maintain its development? Do all of the varied distros? Maybe not, if so then they don't need the Linux Foundation, so they should disassociate from it because it's just a corporate whore. People eventually are gonna have to acknowledge these farces and move towards alternative networks, even create their own. But i2p isn't designed to be resilient against the NSA either (and if everyone left Tor the USG would just join another onion/mix network). Lokinet is a crypto-scheme. Nym is the only existing mix network, and it's just some crypto-bullshit, maybe a scheme like lokinet from what I've seen, but I have to research it more. But again all of these anonymizers do no good when we can be derezzed from using them. Tor bridges won't help as they're ineffective, but I think I've rambled enough.
