For years I've been stupidly downloading fonts from github and manually juggling them around in C:\Windows\Fonts.
Please help suggest some best practices instead, in order to check and auto update like *nix packagers.
How's Scoop, for example.

Idk maybe use WSL, get your fonts through whatever package manager, then move all the ttfs to your windows font directory?

scoop bucket add nerd-fonts
go to scoop.sh and search for a font
you might google the font for a preview as they don't provide one in scoop.sh
