General Purpose Computer Book Recommendations?

What are some books that impart valuable skills or teach the reader about hardware/software, preferably with a UNIX leaning (Pic related)? I'm not thinking of the generic "Linux for dummies" or "Ubuntu 101" type books. Something more substantial. On a more general scale, I'd like to reinforce the basics and learn about file systems like UFS, ZFS, ext4, etc., RAID arrays, file extensions, connectors like VGA, DVI, SATA, PCI, etc., e-mail self-hosting, the command line, networking, and just learn about topics that are taken for granted or glossed over in the mainstream, I guess? I think ideally the book I'm thinking of would be lengthy, textbook-like, professional, with a Table of Contents that I can jump around to topics I can optionally skip without consequently impairing my understanding of the rest of the book's material. I'd like for the book to be a physical purchase, if possible. Didn't know if I should have put this in Literature or DIY, but these books are about technology, so I think it's appropriate in this board.

I can recommend The UNIX-HATERS Handbook.
