to anyone who thought this 25th anniversary special would be insight into something substantial, it appears to have only been an elaborate April Fool's experiment and isn't indicative of any future plans for Lain to return or for some new merchandise to be released. Ueda Yasuyuki Tweeted the following message on March 31st commenting on the Lain website that OP posted.
