Hello, my buddies used to run an imageboard on a site which recently got shut down prematurely because some cheds from another imageboard (not leaf) flooded the place with cheese pizza. We want to self host a new imageboard site now for ourselves. The github for lainchan seems promising. So here's my question, how much specs (RAM, storage space) must the VPS have to run an imageboard site with low to medium traffic (10-15 threads a day with 50 posts per thread, probably not a good estimate) and what are some moderation tools to help keep the pizza out of the site

just tell the web host that your website allowed arbitrary files to be uploaded like practically any other website made after 1998 so it wasn't your fault and you weren't liable

>>68283 That sort of traffic can be handled by an old laptop. If you need specifics, a couple of gigs of ram and 2 cores should do you. If it's serving files, the most important part to consider imo would be an SSD, and some sort of file caching in your web server.

>>68317 Lainchan works fine and should be good with your needs. I was running my dev server on a raspberry pi with like a 16GB microsd and a lot of test posts. I'll tell you what we have right now: 12.81GB of active content. That's lainchan.org, 307K posts, 20K+ users, 12.81GB of data here. You'd be fine with a fairly small system. 20GB - 30GB should be fine for you. If you need to upgrade, you'll know way ahead of time. Here are two free pro-tips: Keep backups, language enhancers are a good friend for keeping out pizza chefs. Good luck and next time ask questions like this in >>>/q/ actually, I'll move the thread to /q/. Other staff members could get back to you on it if you need more info.
