Everything is dogshit. Hot dogfeces. Hot stinky fuarrrking dogshit. You ever think about that? Everything since the 2008s has been a complete and utter fuarrrking disapointment. Cars, Computers, The Internet, Any consumer product, clothes, phones. Take phone for example, oh you want a good old school dumbphone? fuarrrk YOU here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna shut down 2/3G and force you to use modern soykaf instead. Cars? Face out gas! Want an old school car well fuarrrk YOU we will make gas prices ridiculous and force feed soykaf down your neck in the shape of electric cars. How much longer before we all just off ourselves because society is dead, the internet is dead. You think the dead internet theory was wrong? THINK AGAIN SUCKA! It isn't fuarrrking wrong, I know it, you know it, I was around in the good days and they are GONE my man.
Let's see how long we can fight for that one dumbass computer with full foss hardware (Neeeeever gonna haaaaappen) and software to then later end up spending our time on the soykafternet.
You know what? Going outside doesn't even work either because guess what? The people are soykaf too! Wow. I'm amazed. We're actually in hell.
Spike Spiegel · 2023-02-20 16:08
Everything is amazing. Sunshine and sparkle rainbows. Cotton candy sundae delights. You ever think about that? Everything since the 2008s we've been tumbling into a world unknown and bear witness to an accelerating singularity that will flip everything you ever knew all around and upside down. New frontiers, innovations abound, efficiencies yet known but explored. Take the phone for example, we now have the computing power one would have to go behind locked doors in the 70s to get. An instant reservoir of information right here, right whenever. Cars? We're approaching cruise control levels previously thought impossible; terrains waiting to be explored, neat, neat, but products are only one thing. Who cares about products really?
How much longer before we all evolve into something so foreign that this very thread will be but a speck on the memory wheel? Everything is melting, everything is shifting, and I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHERE IT GOES! Deep, deep down I know there's more waiting, you know there's more waiting, and whatever good days once were will be but a droplet in the nebula cloud ensconcing your conception of reality.
Where we're going, we don't need hardware.
As convenient and able as ever, while waiting for the jitters ahead, so one may rest in mountaintops, caverns of sorts and a riverside for water with enough gung-ho. Markets make these once scary expeditions an open book instead. In fact, any sort of reality you crave, how much easier has it ever been! Magic a click away.
Through all the haze, and the churn, a machinery only the above screw together...
We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Yeah holy soykaf, we're going to be driven into "city life" and it's just going to end up like favelas in the movie Elysium. Living is like having a fat boot stepping on your head EVERY SINGLE DAY. The boot just gets heavier, with more dogshit on it's sole. Everything that brings any sort of enjoyment is removed. "Phased out." as they say. In the name of progression. "Other nations are doing it so we need to do it too". That's what these fuarrrking retards say everytime they justify some new bullshit. OH NICE WHAT FLAVOR IS THE DIRT ON THE BOOT TODAY?
You know what? Uncle Ted was right. Cabin is the only way to stay sane and alive in the future. Or you can be dead inside and just a walking meatbag with sort of functioning organs that pay for stuff and works to pay for whatever stuff keeps the meat alive. That's not LIVING. That's being undead. A zombie. EAT ZE BUGS! Absolutely horrifying.

what you're experiencing is regression.
at the current state though we're living a pretty peaceful life.
internet dead meme isn't real but rather there just happen to be more communities to choose from due to web domains being index better. though search engine results are on a decline, I can't even search old websites I used to know and would have to bring up my old bookmarks file just to find the stuff (site wasn't dead though, mostly outranked due to ad/sponsor profit greed).
it's not like it's 2008 where anyone can just freely register a phpBB forum subdomain and host their own rules was "peak entertainment" along with random "WAP" chat rooms or file sharing.
people these days are more extremely conservative or outrageous with their internet use, it's mostly either memes or it is personal communication or personalized profiles.
you simply just don't fit with the new internet crowd and you keep chasing after your "old internet bubble".
>foss hardware
you can't truly be foss. the firmware must also be foss but nobody does that. if you have the peak foss PC, the HDD firmware isn't even foss and so does every other thing. hardware have their own protections simply since it can get leaked in a china factory and anyone will just 'print' or manufacture the same counterfeit.
the only thing I'm angry at is the designers, the new stuff we have lack aesthetics and this is seen with how much they try to revolutionize apple/microsoft/android UI every time but fail to captivate. and also in future EV cars wouldn't have that aesthetic engine start sound.
>We're gonna shut down 2/3G and force
not my problem but rather thank them for doing that. anyone can buy a fake cell tower simulation machine and hijack OTP SMS with wireshark or similar. using my android cell Info I could even find rogue towers near me but also don't be surprised 2/3G sms/data aren't encrypted Present Day, Present Time! AHAHAHAHAHA!
- and it's being used for downgrade attacks.
I know what you really miss in 2008s is the aesthetics, that nokia, that ericsson, that samsung, that metallic apple UI, that microsoft aero/vista, that gnome2/kde4, that xpressmusic vs xperia, and all those aesthetic competing designs that were unique and personalized like any dumbphone which you pick whatever resonates with you the most!
what happened now is they all tried to unify and it, most would just imitate apple instead of compete with each other, it all happened when nokia died due to their dumb decision to become a symbian licensing platform (despite open sourced) like google's android, didn't work and japanese instead made their own fork until gunning it down. nokia tried to imitate android/iOS's angry birds and had "cannon rats" which was fuarrrking garbage. it was just a matter of convenience. it was faster to type in capacitative touch virtual keyboard technology than it is buttons and T9. what you want simply is the aesthetic. just go buy old phone off aliex or a nokia 3310 (2017) and sideload the old days, or use emulators.
but it's true, I still miss the old aesthetic. I guess I'll just do it myself.

I think it's just the way of the world. Computers were fun and exciting during their infancy, but with widespread adoption and as more software was made and more interests were vested in it, it became a soykafshow.
I remember ancient greek philosophers were disillusioned with politics even though their system may have been a decent and innovative one at the beginning, and the intentions of the people who conceived it were good.
Right now we are in a hole or deep complexity, and there is something, something strange about human nature that sours every endeavor it creates.

>2g/3g
cell phones were always soykaf
heres some more:
OS - there was never any competition, just a bunch of autist communities incapable of making a stable / sane product. they instead choose to masturbate over how much they can turn everything into a new terminal escape code, for reasons. also OS dev is purely done by retards who think C is suddenly a real language because Javashit exists and their clique revolves around sucking each others dicks about how they are real man programmers even though they have no gf and just suck each others dicks and also have no skill and i routinely break their codebases within the first hour
light bulbs - 99% PWM garbage with poor spectral power distributions, thanks to environmentalist glitterboyry
monitors - 99% garbage (also with the above problems due to using the same LEDs for their backlight) with high input lag and based on broken tech like LCD with terrible calculator screen contrast shift (which ips doesnt fix), thank environmentalist glitterboyry
going outside - broken by amazon consumer yuppies putting cameras on their door and making it face the street. lol said products also have PWM garbage on some light or something probably like its a trademark of post 90s jewniggercock
cars - broken due to having 9 million lines of C in the ECU for decades and in the last few decades broken 1000x worse by bridging the ECU to infotainment with 9 million more LOC written by web shotters. thank environmentalist glitterboyry
web - broken garbage that never made any sense not one single part of it is good. the concept of hyperlinked content on the internet could have been implemented literally a million other, better, more thought out ways. it feels new that firefox is just a corporate product that shows you ads and news and soykaf in your face and connects to the botnet but actually this is just how browsers have been since the beginning, with a few 1 year gaps of it not being so. this is intrinsic due to the fact that the web is too bloated for what it does (almost nothing) and requires 10 billion man hours to make a working implementation
PDF and soykaf - bug ridden garbage and what the fuarrrk does it even do that you cant just do with a program that renders to a raster format like PNG
consumer electronic interfaces like buttons on a camera, mp3 player, fridge, oven, thermostat. all slow and unresponsive buttons since 2000 or so
games - the first FPS in late 90s were barely working garbage in terms of netcode which they "fixed" by making everything client side which just made it worse but retarded casuals think not having to lead the target magically means the netcode is good. everything after 2000 or so was just reskins of the original FPS and with 10x more bugs (100x if not talking about a top 5 dev like those behind COD / BF / CS).
people who arent cynical about technology shouldnt be taken seriously, there's something seriously wrong with their brains. and you know they're not just optimistic about the long run or some soykaf because theyre mostly dumb as rocks

appliances are all botnet now. they all phone home or can if you connect your phone to them
consequentially they have all kinds of bugs that make them stop working due to the smartcrap infection
many of them have microphone and wifi so it just takes one bug or intentional bug and they can be used to spy on you. this can be in a thermostat (thank environmentalist glitterboyry for "smart" thermostats that have some psuedoscientific algorithm of when to turn heat on or off for this, and for the terrible touch screen controls which are even worsely implemented than your typical debounce in physical buttons). smart TVs have been documented spying on people with mic and taking screenshots of their content.
"high efficiency" laundry machines dont heat enough to kill germs. thank environmentalist glitterboyry
HE laundry machines also stink like soykaf because they are mostly front loading for whatever the fuarrrk reason which always implys a bad design that will collect moisture unless you leave the door open forever and mold up within a week
hot water tanks dont heat enough to kill germs. thank environmentalist glitterboyry
hot water pipes can break from boiling water, thank environmentalist glitterboyry

I don't understand the hysteria around the electric cars.
Subscriptions and smart bullshit has nothing to do with EVs. Gas cars have them too.
And obviously old school cars are too expensive to run nowadays because they're very ineffecient.
None of this has anything to do with EVs.
And my 5 euro cents but we should go to the old school times when everyone hated cars, walked on their legs and used public transport if they need to get somewhere outside of their walking range.
What happens now is a direct consequence of what we were doing before.
Everything is ad infested spyware? Well, we accepted the "free but paid with ads" model back in the 2000s.
Gas prices suck? We build car-dependent cities.
Society is like kicking dead whales down the beach? It unironically always did.

The Internet became soykaf once the normal people started coming in looking to get rich. You used to be able to buy programs ONCE and now look at it: a note taking app is a 20 buck a month subscription.
People go to school for CS to learn Rust or whatever so then THEY can make the next "killer app" so they can make their riches.
Nobody wants to "learn 2 code" to make anything actually cool anymore, just to make some dumb smart dog walking app so they can get funded by VC's and then shut down the app.

We hit peak. Technology is cyclical because the civilization it depends on is cyclical. We're in maintenance phase now and will enter decline soon. This is because biological quality has reduced through massive dysgenics. We don't make 180IQ Austrian ashkenazi physicists anymore. We don't even make decent doctors or mechanics anymore. Greatness is in the blood.
All our new "discoveries" are mostly statistical fraud. The crowning gadget of Mankind will be a soykafty chinese smartphone with loads of spyware and government-mandated social credit tracking with a crappy, dying battery and brain-rotting mobile games and twitchy microsecond-meme social media installed on it. We have only been making that for the past two decades or so, and we won't ever be making anything else that is great or revolutionary. Nah, off by a mile. It's evidently not dysgenics or any other biological race-purity pseudoscience.
A much bigger factor is the lack of time people (particularly, passionate people) now have to pursue meaningful discovery, instead being forced to wageslave and spend so much more time optimizing crap we don't need for companies we don't need. That's not to say people didn't have full-time work 80 years ago, but science is more and more industrialized and disrespected. And now that the barriers for many meaningful discoveries are higher and require costly equipment, NEETs are less likely to become a scientific force the way that monks and clergymen historically were.
And the idea that we don't have great accomplished scientists isn't true either. They're just not often celebrated in mainstream culture like they used to be.

if nuerotypicals were capable of doing the engineering, they would have either done it first or quickly supplanted anything made by those "low class hippy bum liberals". >Nah, off by a mile. It's evidently not dysgenics or any other biological race-purity pseudoscience.
I think dysgenics makes sense. When times were harder, people with lower IQ must have had less children (that survived) because surviving required more thinking and having high IQ increased the odds of survival. Nutrition and education make a difference but but you inherit the maximum "cap" intelligence you can achieve. But why dysgenics wouldn't be real if eugenics is real? The reason why eugenics aren't put to use is the ethical reasons. Think about horse breeding or something (like cows that produce more milk). They want faster horses and they selectively breed them too. I think voluntary eugenics is a good thing and I have decided to not reproduce because I have certain illness that can be hereditary. Absolutely. What we need is an open society that supports people better than the current one.
I think another thing is that right now we’ve reached a plateau because so many major discoveries are hidden in very niche topics. Unless a lot more people become technically and scientifically literate the rate of discoveries will be logarithmic (at least for now). We’ve got awesome stuff happening (like ML), linux has more people using it and improving it than ever before. I think things will get better if we work to make them better.

I think the problem with EVs is more to do with the fact that they're basically smartphones on wheels. Taking Tesla as an example, features that are physically built into the car can be enabled or disabled by paying a license fee and having it turned on in software. In some jurisdictions, there's talk of requiring an always-online camera be pointed at the driver to detect signs of drunkenness (or thoughtcrime) and shut the car down at some bureaucrat's whim.
There's also the issue of a very large and expensive battery being ruined if you're ever in an accident but the main problem is it imports all the problems of smartphones to personal transportation.
BloodCat · 2023-08-03 18:13

I think your diagnosis of the problem is more or less correct but you're wrong about when we'll peak. As bad as things are I think society would just lose the sincere belief that there's no difference in quality between people, and when most people believe it privately, the stigma against acting on that belief would naturally die off. Anon, we don't need to go to war against China. China has already collapsed, the entire country is a walking corpse at this point. In 10 years time from now you'll read an article about cases of cannibalism in China.

I'm fairly certain they do. That's just how China is. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a "trendy" secret dish among the Chinese elite.
The difference being that in America, the elites eat human flesh as part of their occult rituals/create blackmail material. In China, the elites eat human flesh because it's auspicious for feng shui and eating dried adrenal gland and penis soup makes you virile and immune to disease according to ancient chinese folk remedy.

I just want a 3 door off-roader with perfect weight distribution, fat tires, and a huge Diesel engine. It's funny how normal people who bought into downsizing and 9+ gears are all backpedaling when time tells that it was a fuarrrking horrid idea.
Same with PC cases when they stuck glas everywhere including infront of fans. But ofc people go and say they where against it all along.
I hope the Fractal North Mesh sells so much to the point where they all return to side intakes, it's a fuarrrking disgrace that cases from 2010 got better temps and noise while also being able to house multiple drive bays, fan controller and hotswapable 2.5 & 3.5

I'm not about to start defending china but y'all are seriously smoking that psyop propaganda pack if you're unironically trying to insinuate that chinese people are out here just fuarrrking eating each other as like, a normal thing they do.

Maybe you weren't a bloomer all along? The rock bottom for bloomers is being broken bloomer. Bloomers bounce back to the higher form - that is being a bloomer - no matter what

I’m with the other optimistic realists. Things change. Embrace that change and merge into the future, don’t fester in the past. If there are problems, don’t whine about them but make the change you want to see. See the better world coming, embrace with open arms the changes and differences of life. Grow! Things are different now, but they’re also really good (just different). Life is a good, it gets better.

That must be so good to see the milky way!!! Lucky you!

I think it’s just a common pattern psychologically to see the world as worse because of an imagined better time in the past. A fixation on nostalgia and a focus on fear and bad leads to a universal pessimism. That’s just my guess, might be cool to see the psychological basis for doomerism / doom prepping / pessimistic nostalgia.
That clay moon guy game is cool, what was it called again? Dif you enjoy playing it?

Well, believing that Chinese people are literal fuarrrking cannibals is just one more way to justify their extreme racism and jingoism, so why not? They need to secure a future for white children and keep it safe from the scary oriental hoards, and they're happy slobbering all over any boot as long as it's owned by an American corporation.
This is why fascists should be shot.
Anonymous · 2023-08-15 14:12

I think even fascists are pro-China nowadays. It's more of a cable-news-watching elderly conservative thing to hate on China and Chinese people while worshiping corporations.
Crash Override · 2023-08-15 14:19
first of all ok, I think the chinks might be cannibals, but so are everybody else to a little extent. Didnt you all learn about the Donner Party and various famines etc? Errrrrybody does it when the going gets tough. Aren't there fables about hospitality with chinks butchering their wives to entertain guests and stuff though ? Its possible their aversions are present, but weaker. Reading accusations of chink cannibalism into i.e. they eat as much human as Americans eat beef is ridiculous.

I've seen a few fascists who are pro-Xi because he's a follower of Carl Schmitt, senior legal theorist for the Nazis, and he's extremely dictatorial and nationalistic even by Chinese standards. Some Marxists have also embraced pseudo-fascistic ideas, a wing of the old Peruvian Shining Path ditched their old leader, have embraced some Nazi-like aesthetics, and believe non-Andeans are subhuman and should be wiped out, all while claiming to be Maoists. Inca Communist Nazis. You couldn't make this soykaf up.

Chinese have always been anti-cannibalistic because the vast majority of Chinese practice ancestor worship and veneration of the dead. Improper burial of the dead could lead to attacks by evil spirits and hungry ghosts, so cannibalism was severely frowned upon and a major social taboo. Sure, you get isolated cases of cannibalism during wars and famines but that doesn't make the chinks cannibals.
Demeere · 2023-08-15 17:35

this goes for basically all cultures with writing and history tho. and ancestor veneration arguably only should keep me from eating my family, not neccisarily those loosers off north.
Does gyrop have a seige of suiyang tho?

>the humans are human
Most people who claim they would never eat another person are, on some level, lying, which makes it absurd to try and use it as an in-group/out-group differentiator. Cannibalism, even when it is actually meaningfully present in a culture, is almost never, if ever, the kind of inhuman savagery people often illustrate it as.
My favorite instances are when, in some cultures, one great warrior would defeat another, they would eat a part of them, or even share parts of them, believing the act of eating that warrior would cause them to inherent some of their strength. Even knowing this not to be the case, I do find such a form of cannibalism resonates with me, and were I somehow left with the responsibility of deciding what to do with my enemy's body after killing them in hand-to-hand combat, I might myself be inclined to eat them, if they had in any way earned my respect. We try very hard to distinguish ourselves from other animals through our actions, but it is so deeply satisfying to act according to one's true nature, and I would not deny myself the pleasure, granted of course, though reluctantly, that I do not act out of hedonism to bring about such a series of events.
Don't knock it till you try it, not that I have.

the leaf line is cool.
+ end user swappable batteries
+ community projects to monitor and track BMS data
+ open source motor controller projects you can literally right now go buy an open schematic board loaded with open code to swap in place of the motor controller
+ entire rest of car platform is just normal carshit you can swap the shocks, speakers, etc.

My gut feeling is that communism in China will fall within twenty years. The regular people all look deeply demoralized or angry. Everything is ugly, brutalist concrete in various states of decay with very little public artwork. They have no cash and Big Brother is always watching them. There is a very thin veneer of tech escapism and consumerism on top of it all. It's very depressing. Human beings can't live like that for very long.
