After all these years, I finally come back to give a try to i2p.
I have created a specific Firefox profile for browsing the i2p network. However besides the instructions given on their site for configuring the "network settings" I would like to know what can be tweaked (or not) in the about:config page to use i2p securely / conveniently.
>firstparty isolation
>resist fingerprinting
>...
I'm on Linux and I don't want to use the Firefox add-on they recommend as I have a dedicated FF profile.
Also what add-on should be recommended or avoided? Can I use Ublock Origin?
And most of all what can or cannot be tweaked in the setting page regarding privacy and security options (always use private mode, level of tracker blocking...)
I struggle finding a comprehensive guide explaining those points so it may be helpful for all of us having some recommendations.
Also this thread is for all discussions regarding i2p (I looked around but cannot find one).

use tor browser with i2p instead

I will consider it.
May the browsing experience become even slower doing that ?
Is there a place to look at for configuring the Tor Browser to use i2P ?

i think that's what they were saying. point the tor browser bundle to your i2p proxy, not to browse i2p over the tor network. that way you get all the anti-tracking configuration in the tbb and have a less fingerprintable browser, but still use i2p.
i think you just need to change the proxy settings, but i might be remembering poorly

I'm not comfortable installing an add-on on the Tor Browser.
Also on the FAQ page of geti2p.net:
>The proxy config for different browsers is on a separate page with screenshots. More advanced configs with external tools, such as the browser plug-in FoxyProxy or the proxy server Privoxy, are possible but could introduce leaks in your setup.
I have Privoxy on my server so maybe I would prefer this over the add-on solution but it seems not a good alternative.
Honestly I would rather stick to my first approach, having a dedicated well configured Firefox profile specific for i2p and keeping Tor Browser for Tor browsing exclusively.
How could no one have not yet produced a guide or a user.js dedicated to i2p browsing through Firefox ?
Maybe I should the Arkenfox one but it is so heavily tweaked I couldn't figure how it will interact with the i2p network and maybe putting me in a more risky situation (not that my threat model is this needy).

Sure I will when I can figure out how to run i2p properly.

yay ^.^
as for logging in with your browser I just download librewolf which is a FF fork but it functions the same
that way I have my i2p browser and my regular FF for daily browsing.

OK I think I will just use a custom profile running a tweaked Arkenfox user.js. I just need to take some time to figure out what can or cannot be tweaked.
How is Librewolf, been a while I didn't looked this project.

Still OP here.
Finally installed Librewolf for using with i2p. Does the job.
