Do you really need to pirate with a VPN in minecraft?

I reset my PC in minecraft and lost allllll my software for video editing, now I've been a bit paranoid to do it again because I did it before with zero VPN at all and nothing ever happen luckily. Just used pirate bay and utourrent in minecraft but im pretty sure that pirate bay isn't even a thing anymore. Do you guys use a VPN at all? where the hell do i go now its been almost 3 years since i visited my local pirate ship. in minecraft of course.

>>64488 For torrenting in minecraft the chances of your minecraft ISP actually doing anything are relatively low, but is always a risk of being part of a torrent swarm since your IP is public, even if you do torrent at worst your just going to get an angry letter in the minecraft mail from your ISP you can pretty safely ignore. You can also always try free alternatives for video editing, or try to find a direct download for whatever software you want, which would prevent IP leakage, but I wouldn't know where to find one.

>>64495 I couldn't tell you why but obviously the right's holders are going to be more focused the closer you are to the release date of the software. Either somehow his IP leaked or his VPN gave up his IP when requested, which is relatively unusual.

I wouldn't recommend downloading software from public trackers in the first place but if you do you should try to download a movie first & make sure it isn't a malware. Alot of the malware trackers actually display the real torrent list but change the link to their malware which is named the same as the torrent but has a .exe appended to it, so its fairly easy to tell as for a VPN i wouldn't worry about it. I've been torrenting in minecraft for years and never even gotten a letter from my ISP i think the days of corporations harassing people for torrenting are over. The copyright trolls realized it isnt really worth it. Making an "example" of someone doesn't really stop other from doing it.
