If I buy an Android device with 4GB of RAM, will it most likely be running a 32-bit or 64-bit OS?
Boris Grishenko · 2022-10-05 14:17
>>64228 RAM doesn't determine the OS. You're better off looking at the specs of the phone you want to buy first than guessing.
John Titor · 2022-10-06 09:08
>>64228 most 4gb memory phones are still running at 32-bit compiled OS. at 6gb you're guaranteed it is 64-bit you can always install or compile a custom OS or sys-image that is 64-bit or try to verify it with other's claims.

>>64305 >artists only have one genre and don't change across their discography Worst mistake you can make unless you have extremely plebeian taste, tag this soykaf per album. How do you handle splits/VAs and artists with the same name? Or different versions of the same work (e.g. classical)? Here, it's "$artist[ (#)]/($year[-#]) $album/$tracknum. $title.xxx". For classical music, I use the compositor name as artist and première date as year. What's cool, is that having a strict format allows path based tagging: https://git.sr.ht/~q3cpma/scripts/tree/master/item/flac_path_tag.sh

>>64310 on linux files that are marked executable can specify their own script interpreter when you run them, thats why the guy in the video can just type the name of the script to execute it automatically with python. Windows CMD cant do this, so u have to run python manually. The error you get means the script cant find the hosts.txt file that you are specifying with the -t argument. Is there actually a hosts.txt file in the directory? If not you need to make one and put the IP of your target in there
Yamaoto Toshi · 2022-10-09 08:22
>>64329 I got them from here https://onlinerandomtools.com/generate-random-ip, but now I realize that was stupid since, none of those are running rtsp. So then how do I find ip's that are running rtsp.
Dox · 2022-10-09 08:25
>>64330 yeah the chance that 30 randomly generated IPs run rtsp is pretty low you just have to try alot more from the README it looks like you can also specify ip ranges so just type 0.0.0.0/0 to search through the whole ip space
Otto Normalverbraucher · 2022-10-09 08:30
>>64331 Wait so do you mean type 0.0.0.0/0 in the hosts.txt file?
Apoc · 2022-10-09 08:31
>>64331 yeah but its going to take a while so you can also specify smaller ranges like 123.45.0.0/16 maybe also enable torsocks proxy so people cant trace it back to you via your IP. Not that theres a high chance anybodys gonna care, but trying to bruteforce credentials on other machines isnt exactly legal
H.R. Giger · 2022-10-09 09:09
>>64333 So in the hosts.txt file I typed in 123.45.0.0/16 And when I did the command after some time, it didn't even give me any streams or screenshots. So out of those thousands of ips, none of them were running a rtsp
Donna Hawthorne · 2022-10-09 09:59
>>64335 It's just an example to illustrate specifying a range, you still have to make decisions about what will be a reasonable range of addresses to probe
Armitage · 2022-10-09 10:06
>>64335 hmm yeah very odd i just tried downloading the script as well and pointing it on an ip i know is running an rtsp stream (23.88.67.97) without password protection made sure the port & route was in the list as well so idk whats happening it should be able to connect to it & take a screenshot but it didn't it could be that the script logic is written in a bad way such that it only tries to take a screenshot after having successfully bruteforced the credentials, so if the host doesn't require a password in the first place it might just skip to the next one, but idk im not really a python dev so i cba reading through the code to find out
Jim Hilger · 2022-10-09 10:53
>>64338 So for me to find any streams, I just have to try a bunch of different ip ranges, until one of them is running a rtsp and it is password protected?

How many people here actually fully configure their kernels? The quantity of configuration options is obscene and even though I've read that O'Reilly book, it is just so much to cover.

>>64535 Make sure to change the default password and update the software. Disable the WIFI if you don't use it. Some routers have an option to automatically disable it at night (for example). Disabling SSID broadcast (usually called "hidden network" or something) keeps the normal people out. Enable AP isolation, too. Enable firewalls (ufw) on all of your PCs. I guess you could also set up a Pi Hole? >>64552 Configuring and compiling the kernel yourself used to be the only option on Gentoo (nowadays they have a bin package and there is a package that automatically configures and compiles the kernel). The gentoo-sources package automates the downloading and unpacking the Kernel source code (and emerge often warns you if you are missing some kernel config option that's needed by some package). Configuring the kernel is not that difficult once you have done it couple of times. Use hwinfo and lspci (etc.) to determine the HW you have and then just go quickly through all options in the "Device Driver" category. tl;dr guide: #see the documentation of symlink and initramfs USE flags. #install gentoolkit and run: equery u my_pkg #alternatively: euse -i symlink Also works. USE="symlink initramfs" emerge sys-kernel/gentoo-sources sys-kernel/linux-firmware sys-firmware/intel-microcode emerge sys-kernel/genkernel bc hwinfo sys-apps/pciutils #if you are on Debian/Devuan/Mint/Xubuntu: install build-essential package first! #Other distros have similar packages as well: #Arch and Artix: base-devel #Void: base-devel #Alpine: alpine-sdk # On Gentoo, /usr/src/linux should be symlink to the latest version of kernel sources. # you can use symlink USE flag (automatic) or eselect kernel (semi-manual) to manage the symlink cd /usr/src/linux # if you are upgrading, copy the old .config file from the old kernel (uname -r) src dir and run: # make oldconfig #tip: #if you have it enabled in the kernel .config, #you can get the .config file that's used by the kernel that's currently running from #/proc/config.gz #just remember to run make oldconfig as usual (you can use make menuconfig after that) # use hwinfo, dmesg, lspci, Gentoo wiki pages, etc. to select the config options. # Pro Tip: it is recommended to select display drivers as modules. # Pro Tip: press ? to get help on the highlighted config option. # Pro Tip: press / to search for config options (You can use number keys to jump to a search result) # Pro Tip: you don't have to (or shouldn't) enable NTFS write support in the kernel. you should use sys-fs/ntfs3g instead. make menuconfig # build and install the kernel and the modules: make -j4 make modules_install make install # rebuild initramfs and update Grub # Important: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Microcode genkernel --microcode --install initramfs #or use dracut grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg If your distro/package manager doesn't provide a way to automatically fetch updated Kernel sources, I recommend that you don't build the kernel yourself! It's hard to keep track of updates. The main benefit from building the kernel yourself, is that you can select security options that are usually disabled by distros (but Arch Linux provides linux-hardened package, for example). Another benefit is that your kernel won't be as bloated.

Mentat · 2022-10-31 09:45
>>64865 Be absolutely sure your CPU is compatible with your motherboard This means double checking that the CPU you have can run on your motherboard's revision version and current firmware version. As some CPUs are only compatible with some motherboards starting from a certain firmware revision. Theres a CPU compatibility list usually found on the motherboard's manufacturer site. The attached picture is an example from a Gigabyte motherboard. You can also update your motherboard's firmware without a CPU in some cases, check if there are any bios updates for your board. Be sure that your CPU is seated correctly, same with your heatsink. I'm assuming you know all your hardware is not faulty. I'd buy a PC speaker to check what the POST code is. When you turn on the computer the speaker makes a few long and/or short beeps. These have different meanings and you can find a list online about them to help you troubleshoot the problem.
Sabo Engle · 2022-10-31 10:46
>>64861 Make sure you have plugged in all power cables on the motherboard. Again, check out the motherboard manual and check all connections (I think you might be missing one power cable on mobo, above the SSD). And seriously get a case for your PC. If you don't have much money, you can get a cheap PC/case from recycling center. Can you post your build here? Use https://pcpartpicker.com And Try updating the UEFI firmware without installing a CPU (newer motherboards support it: https://www.cgdirector.com/update-bios-without-cpu/).

I've had two different chicks I know mention odd behavior with their crapple phones. Both situations had a lot of similarities. Neither had been installing anything outside the basic normal person toolkit (fb, snap, insta, ect). One of them had received the basic "gimme dollas or I post nudes" emails but nothing ever came of it. Both mentioned instances where when the camera was open it would take pictures by itself, noticeably more while they were taking sexual photos or in a revealing position. I always figured crapple phones were so closed up and monkey safe that doing things like remotely accessing the camera or turning on location services would be impossible for an attacker. However with the similarities of both stories I got curious. Couldn't find any concrete info outside the obvious from a few searches so I came to ask is this possible or is it just paranoid fems? I'm assuming it would be done by abusing the permissions of an installed app, but with nothing out of the ordinary installed I'm confused how it works.

>>65780 False. Computing is plagued by the autistic hall monitor. Look at when you try to open the same file in vim twice. Instead of just letting you press one standard button like q or esc (or whatever would be suitable in terminal land), it goes beserk and gives you a giant paragraph of text saying OMG THE FILE IS ALREADY OPEN!!!!111 and if you press any button a bunch of red text starts flying around the page. It then goes into ultra nuanced details like which process and which host or username has the file open and you even get weird bugs when copying a folder containing the open file (along with its hidden vim turd file) to another machine and it often will say the soykaf is still open even though it's not even the same machine. Now what happens when you SSH into a server but it changed key? You get a paragraph of text saying the key (which nobody ever verifies anyway) might of changed. With ascii characters flying all over the page. In fact, Windows seemed to be immune to this form of autisim until about Windows 7, where you press the shutdown button and it spins for an average of one hour with 3 different message boxes asking you some form of question related to if you want to wait for programs to finish closing or force shut down (and of course the force button doesn't actually work, for Safety(TM) reasons).or was this their plan all along as a front? dum dum dum

What does lain use for remote, encrypted backups? I've been looking into borg https://borgbackup.readthedocs.io/en/stable/ which seems good, but I'd like to explore more options. Looking for a FOSS, self-hosted, solution that encrypts data on the client-side before sending. One downside with Borg is that it uses AES in CTR mode and there are edge cases where nonce reuse can occur. My understanding is that this is limited to when there are multiple clients for a single repo, which won't be my use case, or if the nonce file on the client is tampered with. This shouldn't happen in my use, but I'd prefer a solution that uses encryption that is nonce reuse resistant, like chachapoly or aes-gcm-siv.
Yet Another Lainon · 2022-12-29 15:15
>>66255 A lot of people say that using Borg is the best option. Personally, I just use tar + gpg --symmetric + rsync. If you want to be able to easily extract just 1 file from the backup, I recommend you use mksquashfs instead of creating .tar file(s) because you can use mount -o loop backup.squashfs /mnt/filez to mount it (read-only). Read https://cheat.sh/rsync instead of reading the man-page of rsync because it is like kicking dead whales down the beach (it's only useful as reference when you forget what a cmdline switch does). If you need to backup a lot of data, I recommend you create multiple .tar/squashfs files. Also. do not use ZFS/Btrfs/LVM snapshots as your only way of backing up your system because they don't protect you from a catastrophic failure (but you can use them to augment your backup strategy, for example when you want to be able to roll-back an upgrade).

I have an ultra-lowend laptop that I'm looking to install SOMETHING on. By low-end, it's a 2008 HP mini with an Intel Atom and I think 2gb of memory but I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually 1gb. I have gentoo on my workstation, but I'm not a proficient Linux user and only got it because I thought it would help with my learning curve. 1) What should I use it for? I originally intended to have it for ssh, but I don't have my workstation all the time. If I wanted to ssh over the Internet, I would think I would need to get some SBC that can run 24/7 and have that set up as part of a VPN. I would also need some sort of controller that would be part of this network to be able to remotely turn on my workstation. All in all, I just don't know enough about server administration to be able to set up much less maintain such a system, and I'm most likely overlooking a lot. Can I use it for work or should I just use it for fuarrrking about and learning Linux? 2) What should I install on it? I know gentoo is probably as lightweight as it can be since I can build everything on my workstation, but as I said, I'm not a proficient user and have barely a handle on gentoo. Linux is only something I started toying with over the summer, and I couldn't even get Debian working properly.

>>66433 I used Alpine Linux as my daily driver for a month or so, and I have used Void Linux and Gentoo in the past. I think Alpine Linux is a good choice because it's one of the most lightweight Linux distros there is. It's perfectly usable as a desktop/laptop OS, provided that everything you need is packaged for it (but you may need to use the Edge version of Alpine, which is the development/unstable version). Also, the web interface to package search is a bit weird and you probably need to use a wildcard when you are searching: for example, instead searching for emacs you would write emacs* IIRC, the only thing I couldn't get to work was xinit/startx but using a DM (lightdm+lightdm-gtk-greeter+lightdm-openrc) just works without any problems. It could have been caused by something breaking in Edge, since I was using Alpine Edge at the time. But, overall, Edge was very stable (but you don't need to use it, if you don't want to). >Can I install the i686 implementation or are there some 64-bit instructions that Atom'can take advantage of? 64-bit/AMD64 version is superior but it also uses more memory (I mean literally.). I wouldn't use a 64-bit version on a computer that has less than 4GB of RAM. >Now, I could do gentoo, but the maintenance seems rather tedious. I think Gentoo is comfiest GNU/Linux distro because you can easily pick and disable the features you want/don't want during compile time by using USE flags (it's mostly automated using the Portage package manager). Applying custom patches is really easy, too. Using Gentoo doesn't cause that much extra maintenance when compared to something like Arch or Void. >Gentoo >Is there a significant benefit to be gained or is the computer so old that it hardly makes a difference? With those specs, installing Gentoo is not worth it. The only way to make it feasible is to use distcc (and have a different computer build packages for your low-end laptop). But I would much rather install Gentoo on a desktop (or use VirtualBox (VM)).

So I just found out an ISP in my country actually "kanged" openwrt for their modems. Correct, there was no licenses/attribution page (notice). They sold it commercially into the general public (and enterprise) BUT they did not only: (1) not put the GPL license anywhere (maybe it's in a file inside but how to see) but also (2) they did not release their modified source code. It's also pretty obvious from glance since the status page looks like openwrt's modem page. What are the chances I could get FSF to pressure them to release their source.zip ? I mean they could ignore the legal consequences but maybe they just might release their source code (anyway the router was already hacked by some generous people so it's not big deal anyways). I am assuming all if not most of their routers were using openwrt so it would be nice to have some of the source code for them (albeit it's really old version of openwrt). I'll report them anyways though.

Some of the problems that have occured include: * A former inability to use audio without changing ownership of /dev/snd/* upon each boot (this went away) * An inability for torified mutt to write to my spool or to my sent folder (in $HOME/mail/sent) * General Setguid errors throughout the system * Havng to run as Root repeatedly to get system-level programs to run correctly * Inability to have some applications use PulseAudio sinks (installed PulseAudio after apulse stopped working for several programs) Should I just back up everything on my drive, and reformat/reinstall or is there a good solution to this problem? Searching for fixing the individual problems has been quite laborous, expecially with trying to find Torified Fetchmail+Mutt+MSMTP setups which finds the error reported in multiple places with no solution. Further, if your advice conclude to just start over, is there an easy way to export apt's installed-package list so I may easily reinstall all my apt-downloaded packages in my next system?

What are some internet services to receive SMS? If it's not free, it should accept crypto. I shouldn't have to leave a literal money trail to play a video game online. Bonus points if it works over Tor but the internet is so Indian'd these days that I wouldn't hold my breath. I have used those phone numbers provided by free services like receivesms.org, but half of the time their numbers are blocked or, "this number was used too recently".

I'm a novice Linux user who decided on Gentoo as being my first distro, and I have been thinking about switching to something Arch-based. Gentoo hasn't been too terrible to me and I would like to use it again in the future for other things, but I know I'm not taking advantage of all the benefits Gentoo has to offer when it comes to package management and customization. My Gentoo expertise pretty much boils down to sort of knowing how to use emerge, a little bit about openrc, fuarrrking up my USE flags, and struggling to install the binary kernel because my custom kernel doesn't work. Does anyone else use or has used Gentoo as their desktop with success and, if so, what advice do you have?

>>67191 >Does anyone else use or has used Gentoo as their desktop with success and, if so, what advice do you have? Basically this: >>>/λ/34247 >https://dpaste.com/7SDBRZFPG Some highlights: * It's highly recommended that you use a desktop profile if you are new to Gentoo. * Do not enable ~amd64 globally. Instead enable it only on the packages that need it. * Install eix (and read its man-page for important details about installing it. Run eix-update to generate the search index and eix foobar to find a package). * Always have gentoolkit installed! * It's better to use your make.conf to -disable stuff (but you can enable things like the X USE flag (etc.) in you make.conf). Use your package.use for enabling USE flags, unless it makes sense to enable it globally in make.conf. * Always mask all packages from a overlay before you even add it. Add */*::my_overlay to your package.mask. P.S. Layman is deprecated, don't use it. * Adding -O3 to your CFLAGS does not always (usually) make sense. In fact, some binaries may get slower when using -O3. You need to benchmark and enable -O3 to only some specific packages that benefit from using it. Generally, using -march=native -O2 -pipe (perhaps also: -fno-plt) is good enough. Gentoo is very comfy but you should know how to use GNU/Linux CLI before you start using it (the same applies to Arch, too). I highly recommend you work through this book: https://linuxcommand.org/tlcl.php >thinking about switching to something Arch-based. I recommend you avoid most Arch derivatives. The only good Arch Linux derivatives are ALARM and Artix Linux.

>>67233 I don't know why, but GNOME has been going downhill since the first release of GNOME 3. I think KDE is much better, if you want a ton of features. If you want a DE that just works, I recommend installing MATE or Xfce4 (or just a WM, like IceWM). If you use Debian netinstall iso or do a "expert install", you can choose the DE you want (the installer lists all major DEs). If you don't want to reinstall, you can use aptitude (tasks tab) or tasksel to do this on any Debian installation. >>67267 The best way to mitigate Botnet 10 and Botnet 11 is to dual-boot it with GNU/Linux. Running some script is not enough. Use Windoze for games and programs that require it. Then do everything else on Linux. I recommend you buy SSD (or two) for the operating systems, so rebooting doesn't take much time. You might want to get a HDD (or two) for data. I recommend getting 2 Crucial MX500 SSDs and a large 7200RPM HDD that's made by either Toshiba or Western Digital (whichever is cheaper). I recommend getting SSDs with capacity of 1TB or more (but you probably don't need more for your OS). Samsung SSDs are also good.

I need help picking an (external) hdd enclosure. I don't want something cheap because my main hdd became corrupted inside of the last one. Not sure why, possibly just natural lifespan, but I definitely want to invest in any possible features for safeguarding my data in the future. I just don't have the time right now to figure out how best to setup that suits me, I've observed that a separate computer/server(NAS?) with internal hdds seems like the main option /g/ considers legit but I won't have enough time for at least a month to take on a task like that. If there are any features, e.g. protecting the hdd from ejecting/unmounting incorrectly, protecting from unexpected power outage, that's the kind of thing I'm looking for, something simple that I can just plug into various computers and offload/re-organize etc. I have 20+tb across 4-5 hard drives (+2-3 computers) and it's a mess, especially since I need to figure out the full extent of unrecoverable files from the previously-explained fuarrrk-up from one of the HDDs. Thanks for reading, apologies for the spoonfeeding request, sorta just wish I could pay someone $20 and he'd say "buy this" to save time. Money isn't the issue.

>>78252 Well, yeah. That also makes it easier to use Veeam or whatever to do backups of certain partitions containing important stuff that you might accidentally blow away while distro-hopping. Making separate partitions for certain directories has been a thing (at least in enterprise) for, like, ever. That's mainly concerning stuff like /var/ (/var/log/ has always been particularly at risk of being filled up with bullshit, plus other caches/temp stuff in /var/). If you are running, say, a network edge firewall and you don't give /var or /var/log its own partition (or logical volume)* then when the filesystem fills up because you didn't configure log rotation, now your shit is fucked and you might have to actually drive over to wherever it is to intervene because it won't be responding over SSH, lol. As far as stuff you give a soykaf about: - Yes, it's pretty much never not a good idea - You should also consider giving /etc/ its own volume - If you are making actual partitions in fdisk for this, please figure out how to use LVM, geez - Also: using apt/dpkg to export installed packages list and bulk install them elsewhere https://askubuntu.com/questions/1092567/how-to-get-package-list-from-one-pc-and-install-that-on-another-pc

Then I thought that would be dumb because you can't access the cameras using an app or the computer without taking the hard drives out. Is there a way to make an anti wifi disruptor? >pic related I wanted to change a circuit like this at first.

>>82386 >Why rely on the Linux kernel? One security flaw in that hairball of code and you're cooked. People rely on the Linux kernel because of its enormous track record of reliability and security in technical, military, intelligence, supercomputers, internet, and commercial use all over the world for many years. >Do you trust the Linux foundation? I certainly don't! There's no accounting for stupid opinions. [shrug]

>>82348 How much space do you even need on a phone? I don't know how I'd fill up 128GB, never mind 1TB that some phones come with now.

>>82535 If you have a big collection of movies you watch on your phone, or a lot of ROMs stored on it, or a big collection of books you read on it, or a lot of hi-res videos you made with your phone, storage can get used up pretty fast.
Agent Richard Gill · 2024-12-19 23:13
>>82547 Sure, big things are big. But why would you want to watch movies <7-inch screen? Having space for shooting a ton of video at once makes sense, if you're a vlogger or something. The nice thing about books is their hours-to-size ratio. If we assume 50GB for system files and apps, you could fit 130,000 of 600KB epubs into the remaining 78GB. Reading one every single day, you would die before finishing 20% of it. I'm not into emulated games so I'll pull the number 500MB out of my ass and say you can fit 156 games into 78GB. Although having played games on a touchscreen before, I don't know why you would want to do that either.

When you flash a custom ROM, does it overwrite the version of Android that comes pre-installed on the phone? If it does, does that mean that factory reset is no longer possible after flashing? If it doesn't, does it mean you'll have less storage space after flashing?
Armitage · 2024-12-22 22:40
>>82639 >When you flash a custom ROM, does it overwrite the version of Android that comes pre-installed on the phone? It overwrites some of the partitions, like the system partition, but not others, like the bootloader and radio. >If it does, does that mean that factory reset is no longer possible after flashing? If Factory Reset works with the custom ROM, all it will do is wipe out any configurations you've made, and your data, just like it does with a factory ROM. It will not restore the factory ROM. But you can reflash a factory ROM if one is available for download. They're usually available for Motorola and Google phones, and a few others. >If it doesn't, does it mean you'll have less storage space after flashing? It does (overwrite), so the only relevant factor is whether the custom ROM is bigger or smaller than the factory ROM (usually about the same).

if i run a linux distro on a VM in windows, does this circumvent privacy concerns about windows? or can windows obtain significant data and phone home? any elaboration on this would be super helpful

>>86229 Running trusted system on top of an untrusted is meaningless. I'm not sure there are any people left on this imageboard who are competent enough to know even superficially what spying techniques windows employs. The most involved way of spying on a virtual machine is analyzing RAM and maybe even executing CPU instructions. Since virtualization is assisted by the kernel, it is not impossible to implement such tools. On the other hand, it is involved as fuarrrk and I really am not sure if indians who program windows really could be prodded into implementing it. With my schizophrenia in head, I'd assume they could, but still this seems highly unlikely. Another much less involved method is taking regular screenshots and transmitting them to microsoft. With modern AI image recognition tools this can be implemented even by a single indian. I have never seen any evidence that they actually take screenshots, but because it's so easy to implement I would assume they absolutely do. They can also conceal it easily and since they constantly transmit data to and from your computer you can never know when it happens. The easiest way and one you can be absolutely sure is implemented is key logging. This is a no brain solution that has existed since long before AI. It is quite sufficient to know everything they care about and can be used to guide the timing of more involved techniques. Keep it mind that while there is no evidence, they might have found a way to recognize patterns of mouse movements as well. So you see, spying on your virtual machine is not really different than spying on your firefox window, if slightly more complicated due to nested application windows. This is a highly amateur reply take it with a huge grain of salt.

>>86229 >>86231 Even without going into "conspiracy" territory (as you said, there is no evidence that microsoft spies to that extent), using a VM doesn't protect you from "normal telemetry". When your VM needs to write to disk or send stuff over the network, it's logged by the system. Obviously, using a VM doesn't prevent the system from knowing about when and where you use your computer either.
Netrunner · 2025-05-08 06:18
>>86229 Remember Micro$oft Recall? Similar AI tools can take screenshots of your screen and "read" and otherwise analyze what you are currently doing on your computer. I suggest that you look into dual-booting or possibly running Botnet 11 on a VM. QubesOS is a way to easily run multiple virtual machines on your PC. Just make sure to have at least around 16GB (or more) RAM.
Undisclosed · 2025-05-08 09:27
Dual booting is moot unless you sign the boot loader and the kernel AND also encrypt everything, preferably using the lvm on top of luks scheme.

My old PC with Kubuntu recently died but thankfully I saved all my AppImages on an external hard drive, so I could reuse them on my new PC with the last version of Kubuntu. ...or so I thought. Now, for whatever reason, about half of them don't work anymore. Wtf is this bullshit? They're all the SAME exact AppImages, and they ALL worked perfectly! And I just moved them, not even on a different distro, but literally just from a slightly newer version of the same one. How the actual fuarrrk is this even possible??? The entire reason I moved from Windows to Linux was to avoid soykaf like this from happening! Is there any OS in existence that's not actively anti-freedom?
