I'm posting from one. The hardware is good, but the default operating system is like kicking dead whales down the beach, and good luck getting a good one on it. I hate that my Thinkpads' fans kept failing, but Thinkpads have a wide variety of operating system choices and other such things. My main Thinkpad doesn't have a working fan, but I've kept it running for over half a year; my Pinebook Pro is lucky to stay up a week without requiring a hard reset for no reason. I can't figure out how to have it fsck at boot, either, so it's slowly destroying the operating system; this first happened when I decided to use it for real work, so I've not made that mistake since then.
Until and if the software situation ever becomes fixed, just get an old Thinkpad instead.

i don't really see the point of it when you can just restore an x131e or something for dirt cheap. iirc the hardware is even weaker than that of the pi 4 and the OS support is also worse. it's a cool concept but i don't really think it's practical.

Arch on a PBP has been my daily driver for a year. Works like a dream.
