hi lainons. I'm looking for a good gratis & open source blog site for my work stuff. I thought about wordpress' official host service, but there privacy policy and Tos are quite sus. I still wanna try not to violate site visitor's privacy even if I'm not self hosting. Is there any blog host provider that is fully open source and allows people to comment without an account?

Just make a blog on neocities. Search up Zonelets for Neocities if you don't feel like messing around with HTML too much; it'll get you setup easily.

neocities like the other guy said. honestly HTML is really easy and it doesn't take more than a day or two to learn it well enough to make a somewhat complex site

>>55502 >Is there any blog host provider that is fully open source and allows people to comment without an account? self-hosted wordpress fulfills this, just with two big caveats (a) Gravatar will see the IP of all your visitors, and the page they're visiting from, until or unless someone patches this (or the user has mitigating browser plugins) (b) if you decide to install Askimet to deal with spambots, warn the visitors that their comments will be transmitted to a 3rd-party server http://www.ishygddt.xyz/~blog/privacy-policy >>55515 don't be mean! there's nothing wrong with starting a weblog. https://www.robrhinehart.com/the-new-york-times/

>>55521 *and, to be clear, you can "self"-host wordpress on any random VPS provider (box.cock.li is the only one I'd be confident isn't selling your visitor's traffic details) or most "shared web hosting" packages (of which god knows what privacy implications such has, sadly) -- in any case, self-hosting allows you to allow unregistered users to comment

>>55505 yeah I do know a little html, maybe what I need is a commenting system. In the zonelets website it just uses disqus, but it's proprietary. Does neocities allow such thing, though? I think it only allows static site and maybe some javascript?
