How many browsers are installed on your computer? I couldn't decide which one to switch to so I said fuarrrk it. Just install all the mainstream ones and the most popular open source/privacy ones. After all, perfect browser doesn't fuarrrking exist so I use whatever the fuarrrk I feel like it. Mostly, I do the normal person stuff in one of the mainstream ones and keep my day to day asshole browsing in the others. I never use Chrome but I installed it specifically as a decoy. All my other browsers are in a folder but Chrome is pinned to taskbar and on desktop, front and center. That way, if my computer suddenly dies or something and I have to give it to someone for repairs and for whatever reason they end up having to browse, they will use Chrome instead of other browsers with vile degenerate soykaf bookmarked.

I have a hardened FF profile and a regular profile for sites that won't function. I use em both daily.
Agent Richard Gill · 2021-11-27 16:27
Palemoon for regular use, Tor for anonymity, and Firefox for those soykafbag websites pushing Google's endless webcruft.
Coolio · 2021-11-27 19:10
I only use Brave and Tor Browser. Brave for sites that require a lot of bandwidth usage and Tor Browser for articles/sites that I don't need to log in to use.
Sabo Engle · 2021-11-27 20:59
2 browsers (3 if you count default preinstall which i dont use cause it seems to mem leak) its a separation for work and other stuff because when i have all in one browser i get distracted by the entertainment tabs while doing work

>>54017 i have Librewolf and Tor installed if i need chromium i install ungoogled chromium for whatever it may be then remove it later
Void · 2021-11-27 23:03
Chromium for general browsing and Tor for privacy/anonymity. I choose Chromium over Brave because it doesn't have crypto malware, over Firefox because Firefox is not secure, and over Ungoogled Chromium because it does not automatically update, has no official binaries, do not add any real privacy that cannot be added into vanilla Chromium by changing a few flags, and being a community fork, will always be behind Chrome/Chromium in security updates. For these reasons, I believe Chromium is the best general purpose browser for privacy, though Windows and MacOS users will be better off using Microsoft Edge or Safari since they automatically update and are integrated into their OS (I believe they're acceptable choices since users are already trusting Microsoft and Apple).
Guthrie · 2021-11-27 23:13
>>54043 >has no official binaries >using a browser you didn't compile yourself because it's "more secure" el mayo

>>54017 Four. Firefox with the expected extensions and tweaks to about:config for my personal browsing and ungoogled-chromium for M$ Teams/Office, Discord and Spotify as PWAs, each with their own browser profile. Beats installing multiple electron apps, while allowing the use of extensions, especially useful for Spotify. I also have tor browser, but I mostly use that for onion boards and libgen, which my ISP blocks. The last one is epiphany/GNOME-Web, which I mostly use to make sure my pages are rendered properly, as it generally behaves like safari does.
XERXES · 2021-11-28 01:36
Frefox, and occasionally use Chromium if I need non-English webpages translated.
Yamaoto Toshi · 2021-11-28 01:39

I have Tor which I use as a default browser, I have firefox-esr which came preinstalled which I use once every 3 or 4 months and I have the emacs eww browser which I use whenever using emacs. Never bothered with chrome based browsers.
Bob Arctor · 2021-11-29 00:44
i like edge it doesn't take up a fuarrrkload of ram and has some nice multitasking/organization features don't really have a secure browser setup on this computer. but i've also got chrome, safari, tor, firefox installed. firefox i use for more dickweed browsing i would use safari as a main but don't really like some of the design choices/how locked down and devoid of customization it is. so fuarrrking fast and energy efficient though
Faye Valentine · 2021-11-29 02:45
>>54073 Edge is risky because it's possible that Microsoft's PhotoDNA spyware is built in and scanning all images that load in your browser. So if a CP spambot, which are common in vichan instances on the web like this site, posts some CP then Microsoft may auto-report you to your local authorities. Then even though you're innocent, the police will seize your electronics and never give them back to you since there's no law requiring them to give them back within any time limit.
Mentat · 2021-11-29 03:34
Back when it was still maintained I used Cyberfox. >>54073 I have to assume you either have more than one computer or are using an Apple computer considering Safari hasn't had a Windows version for around a decade. Have you tried OmniWeb? It's engine is similar to WebKit and I believe the engine is open source unless I am mistaken. Iirc ram usage was low and benchmarks for speed exceed every browser out there my own tests in the past but it's been years since I tried it. Though it has not been in active development for years now just an potentially unstable 6 test version is being worked on over the past half decade I think it's been.

>>54017 Two. Icecat and Tor browser. I would recommend avoiding browsers like Brave because aside from the obvious other issues, the Tor browsing mode isn't as secure.
Emmanuel · 2021-11-29 19:07
librewolf seamonkey midori gonna install icecat but been procrastinating adding repo used to have palemoon then found out its run and developed by some tumorous furry
Agent Jones · 2021-11-29 22:18
basilisk and dillo. anyone know how to make it so when you search for something it doesn't go ..? >ddg.com.com/?t=palemoon&q=search+term that is my only privacy concern with this setup really
Unknown · 2021-11-29 22:37
I like to do different things on different browsers, to keep different "profiles" in a way like you do, but for my personal use instead of fooling normal people, so some of the choices may seem redundant: Librewolf, Firefox, Ungoogled Chromium, Iridium, Tor Browser.
Jane Doe · 2021-11-30 00:06
>>54107 Easy fix. Don't use DuckDuckGo. DDG's search results are bad anyway. If you only are concerned it appearing in the URL bar then use Searx. It doesn't show what you searched for there just says /search. Though I don't know if that means it only isn't visible in the URL bar and is readable elsewhere such as by your ISP in plain text (I don't know) and if that is the case Id consider Search Encrypt which encrypts your search string but I have only found about it today so I don't know how trustworthy it is not having looked into it yet. There may be other options but I have yet to come across them. https://www.searchencrypt.com/home
Eldon Tyrell · 2021-11-30 08:53
Librewolf and Tor browser, the same as a few other Lains. I've also got Brave that I occasionally use instead of a profile within one of the other browsers, just for the convenience of it (different user agent, Tor exit node IP and all). I wouldn't go as far as to recommend it though, it's full of soykaf.
Terzibashjian · 2021-11-30 12:01
>>54107 Disable GET requests under Privacy settings. Only drawback will be that going back won't bring you back to the search result page so I recommend also enabling "Open links in new tab" under General.
Guthrie · 2021-12-01 01:37
Falkon, Konqueror, Chromium, Firefox, and Tor Browser I mainly just use Falkon.
Nanashi No Gombe · 2021-12-01 02:30
>>54017 One. Tor browser. You don't need JS. Any website that uses that can be dumped on a "smart"phone that you keep as far away as possible from you.

I have different browsers that I brutalize the internet with when I need to. I currently have four browsers installed, and the latter two are excess. I just switched to Brave to give it a test drive and I'm enjoying it so far but I'm weary of the ad thing.

>>54017 I only use the ones that datamine me the hardest. We are not allowed to user firewalls either. Also, a camera and microphone needs to be activated and directed to my face at all times while on work.

>>54017 I'm considering switching full-time to the MAGA Browser (Brave) cause I want as much monies as I can earn doing anything but I'm little concerned about privacy and stuff. Normally I just use firefucks with adnauseam, https everywhere and noscript and tor with same.
Netrunner · 2021-12-03 18:53
>>54232 Does anyone just use Brave as a junk browser for the crypto earnings? I don't want to use Brave as a regular browser but I have thought over time more and more recently to just use it for junk browsing for BAT.

>>54155 It's horrifying to think that those kinds of things aren't as unacceptable now, and being sold to employers under the pretense of "safety" and "security". It would have been unimaginable to force employees into constant surveillance like that just a few decades ago.

>>54017 >chrome enjoy your microphone "always-on" hotword "feature" if you really enjoy giving out recordings of your voice constantly to them, this isn't even a fuarrrking joke, some builds still have the hotword blob installed and this works on both win/linux, I guess now that they've read up about this post they will remove that feature completely for mainstream users but they will still probably roll out special builds like those special "AMP" builds they do for other people which means they act as a literal man in the middle proxy (through amp proxy) for cerrtain people who are none the wiser. Like you perhaps? You can even probably scan yourself with clamav and see results about hotword or even just manually sift through your folders and there's a hotword blob. if it's there you deserve it. you won the prize
