Please elaborate on why you use mouse / input device that you do and why you want to discuss pointing input devices ?)

My Kensington Slimblade is still rollin'
Yamaoto Toshi · 2021-11-15 15:03
What's with these terrible threads? No one cares what mouse you own.

I use a Kensington Orbit wired trackball mouse. It's pretty nice. I also have a custom mouse accel curve setup with RawAccel. I'm not the best shot in FPS games but I'm still purty good in most of them (I mostly just play rising storm 2).

Got one of these a couple months ago, a worthy upgrade from my Kensington Expert Mouse. I also scooped one of these old Bluetooth Slimblades for my laptop

Because this is trackball gang

ive never actually tried a trackball mouse, what makes them so good?

Think of them sort of like trackpads that move with your fingers (and can keep moving without them). A small flick can send your cursor across multiple monitors for example.

fuarrrking heretech
> them so good?
Precision. Once you learn them. And does not fatigue your palm. Once you develop finger muscles you never ever before used in your life.

Logitech MX518 is best mouse.

I have a Zowie EC1-A and while its a great mouse with a sensor that's supposed to be amazing etc.I genuinely can't tell the difference in performance between it and a basic as fuarrrk office mouse
This soykaf does not matter, its more nonsense designed to make you replace perfectly good generic equipment with more expensive branded equivalents that aren't really any better in a useful sense
Unless the cheap mouse that comes with most computers/you can get for $5 from anywhere hurts your hand to use I would just tell people to buy that, it really doesn't make a difference. I've not really noticed any reliability problems with basic office mice in the long term but cheap gaming stuff and other gimmick products break for me all the time.
I might, might go get an ergonomic wireless mouse at some point as I occasionally get RSI but I'm literally only paying for the shape and the decent wireless, I couldn't give a fuarrrk about any of the rest of the stuff.

he never praised a brand he just specified the model of the mouse and brand he likes the most. by your logic OP is saying zowie is good instead of a single zowie mouse

Steelseries Rival 600 is the best mouse. It got weights, a cable that you can unplug on both sides and a comfortable grip. You should know better imouto.
Yuki Nagato · 2021-12-29 16:25
I use my trustworthy Logitech M90 and the laptop's trackpoint. fuarrrk touchpads, they suck.

After getting RSI I tried to create the most ergonomic setup in which a trackball seemed the best option. Moving the mouse with fingers instead of arm swing was an improvement and having the thumb as left click is also nice. Eventually I switched hands which was way easier than I expected and lost most of the pains. I still need a second trackball for my right hand (I want the Kensington orbit with the scroll wheel), because I have the Logitech marble without scroll function, so my forward button + mouse movement is now what I have to use, and that is soykaf for graphics editing programs. Otherwise good stuff, the trackball makes it easier for me to make the moves I want. I don't use the mouse often though as I've customized my PC enough to avoid moving my hand from keyboard to mouse.

I used this exact one for a long time till it broke, its almost perfect
Now I use a 10 buck dell wireless mouse, I cant imagime spending more than 20 on a fuarrrking mouse but >>54739 look nice and weird I want one

Agreed, tech consumerism is the lowest form of tech discussion but its pretty fun too, seeing what tech lain is rocking. I love /bst/ threads on the other chan

I used to have a mouse with weights years ago and it was the dumbest soykaf, you want your mouse to be as light as possible regardless of what you are doing (games or not). Less friction is always better. It's a marketing gimmick.

I actually switched from the logitech marble to the kensington orbit a while back― it took a few days to get used to the shape, but it's comfy and I'm so used to the scroll ring idk how I went without one to begin with.
Be warned, though: The scroll ring isn't clicky (if that's what you're used to), and the mouse buttons do wear out after a couple years of use. I had to buy another orbit just the other day because right-click drags were getting hard to do on the old one.

I think that ELECOM Huge is currently best ergonomics from the fingers operated ball category. Playing shooters with that shape of trackball is pure joy.

steelseries is absolute garbage
i had the rival 300 whatever and it broke after a few months - the left button curved upwards
it also had this retarded clothy rubber siding that can't be removed because it will change the shape of the mouse and gets full of grease and soykaf and can't be cleaned due to being unremovable clothy rubber
it also has lights which is no bueno and requires some half working nigger tier software that only runs on windows to turn it off (which implies it also has non trivial firmware, which is also no bueno)
it also had a glitterboy picture of a crate because it was "PUBG edition" which was the only one the store had in stock
i should have known by the fact that it's a canadian company
it's as if some sysadmin glitterboys on reddit cirlcejerked eachothers balls off with their tongues enough until they one day were like "bro you should make a tech company"
sage for gay consumer thread

I use one of these from "Kensington"
it has lasted more than 7 years of usage during my nearly every waking moment; it appears not to have been built to planned-obsolescence anti-standards, and it is big enough for my large hands to comfortably use.
(I have a mousepad, but it is a bit small. I am happy to have it, however.)
my only true complaint about this mouse is it is too light; I will disassemble it and glue some heavy wads of iron (bolts, perhaps) into it, I think.
