hey folks, any way to buy a internet domain in a privacy friendly way?

>>51774 Not really what you want but you could register a domain on github or neocities over tor

>>51774 Private from who? If you want to keep your real name away from normal people just visiting your site, sure. Any registrar that keeps your info out of a whois query will do. That's more or less standard now for most TLDs. If you're hiding from people who can make your life hell (corporations, governments) then no. Just run a Tor hidden service and forget about the open web. Just pick a threat model and go from there.

>>51774 You could try to use (privately gotten) Bitcoin, and a fake identity, to buy a subdomain from afraid.org

well, when i mean private from the people that visit my page, any good page for buying domains that you recommend?

>>51774 In the OPM hacks, the Chinese used domains registered to marvel super heroes (technically their non-hero names like "tony stark").

If you can access someone else's credentials, you could use them to purchase a domain?

>>51783 Say if I want to make an anime fan page on neocities over tor, is it a big deal if I'm on a wifi connection at a family member's house with their ISP provided router as long as I use proper bridges?
