Is it possible to use a phone's RAM for other stuff?

Hi lainons, I have a couple of extra android phones lying around and they all have pretty good processing power. Is it possible to use these to do computations on my PC, or even to add some extra power to the machine I'm running?
How do you guys use your older phones?

What kind of computations do you want to do with them?

I don't have anything specific in mind, I just want to use them instead of shelving them till the end of their life.
I was thinking of using them to speed up Gentoo emerge times or maybe setting up a local image server with them, but I'm open to any suggestions

You could install a debian, or a distro of your flavour on them and use them as servers?
Nextcloud, Pihole, DNS-Server, home automation etc ...
You could look into:

issue with phones is they will put your tasks to sleep
most of the time they will do that even if you tell them not to another issue is the batteries
charging them 247 like that is going to be a fire hazard especially on Samsung devices
another issue is the chargers
you can buy decent chargers, but if you don't, then running a crappy one 247 is going to be hazardous because the cheap Chinese transformer is going to blow
as for actual doing the computing, termux is the eat easy way

Electrical engineer user here, stop talking bullshit you know little to none about
Transformers have been fazed out of chargers from fuarrrking 90s due to their costs.. and no transformer "blows up" so I have no idea wtf you're talking about buddy

You talk big but you have no proof
You're probably larping

Everything blows up eventually. In cheap switching supplies it's usually some small minor component and it dies safely, if the cheap chinese magnesium global arson attempt transformer dies - it burns. High quality chargers with high quality transformers are fine though, get the one from apple.

any custom kernel (android, rooted) could easily use a profile that doesn't put apps to sleep(performance governor), i'm sure this can easily be achieved on a linux ditro too trought terminal
also, just a charger can solve the battery issue.

It's pretty easy to turn an old Android phone into a Tor onion server. All you need is Orbot and an html or ftp server app, all of which you can get on F-Droid. Set up the server, set up Orbot (just look through the menus), get your onion address, give it to anyone you like. Takes about 10 minutes once you figure out the settings.

Jere is a good webpage with quite a number of tested mobile phone chargers for 220V sockets: http://lygte-info.dk/info/ChargerIndex%20UK.html

reviews on off brand chargers on Amazon would suggest it is you who has no idea
I've had crappy off brand chargers blow on me before, an electrical engineer would not discount the possibility so quit larping half-channer
