Why can't more CLI apps look as cool as bpytop ?

Well this tool it's pretty cool: https://github.com/muesli/duf

>>34420 It looks very cool but does it make sense? I mean yea it might be interesting to see the waves how much your core has been loaded a few moments ago. But why should i need this for Memory? or my Disks? Wouldnt be a simple percentage view be enough? Just because somthing looks fancy it doesnt mean its necessary.

>>34421 This is nice, thanks for the link. A clean, legible, useful little utility. It's also the perfect example of why I'm a big Go fan. Installing from source was absolutely painless. It was literally a 20 second error-free process. I didn't need to install fuarrrking Node and deal with NPM bullshit - and NPM is all bullshit. I didn't need to fight to install Python 2 into my modern distro where Python 2 is obsoleted because the original author remains a Python 2 diehard (Hello DisplayCAL, can you get around to not living in 2015 anymore?). I didn't need to mess around with erlang/elixir/mix weirdness (Hello Pleroma devs, I love your goals and admire your collective work ethic, but holy cow your install process is really fuarrrking weird for someone with a classic C background). Just clone the duf repo, run "go build", and copy the binary somewhere. Done. No bullshit. It's like the good old C days with nice boring simple makefiles where you could basically just run "make" and copy the binary somewhere. Feels comfy, man.

mostly because modern Linux has ruined the console with kms

bpytop and duf might look cool but theyre awful applications
