Hello Lainchan
What is the best way to exorcise a windows 10 machine?
I got a stationary from my brother.
There isn't really any important data on it
So hopefully something to turn it into a Debian/Arch in fewest steps.
Additional info: I have a 32GB pendrive, no other machine, and I have a smartphone

Are- are you asking for a tutorial on how to install linux?
Holy soykaf dude.
I'll humour you a little but god damn seriously you should look for detailed steps how to do it on your own or you may never learn
>download your prefered distro iso
>flash it into a pendrive (rufus runs on windows)
>boot from usb
>partition the disks
>install os
>???
>profit
If you're n00b enough to not know this stay the hell away from arch. Start either with debian or ubuntu.
Good luck lad, and remember to search for info instead of asking strangers on the internet for help on topics that you can easily find anywhere

If this isn't your main machine, and you want to learn linux, you might want to look into Linux From Scratch, you will learn a lot.

what's "a stationary"?

probably a zoomer word for computer that doesn't fit in the hand

Probably not eng as first lang. In my country/lang we do actually call a computer that's not a laptop (called "carriable" here) stationary. You can't move it around (without unplugging), it's stationary.

Just about every question you could ever ask has been asked before if you use a common distro, and you're just wasting both your own and others time by asking instead of looking it up yourself. If you can't into that you won't have a good time in linux world.

He did write in the OP he has no other machine.

Regardless of cultures, generally only zoomers would use such a differentiation. Millennials grew up with "desktop computers" being the default computer (thus little need to specify that it's a desktop computer) while zoomers grew up with portable planned obsolescence garbage being the default "computers"

We do commonly specify here though, like at least half the time computers are mentioned, in my experience. So much for your regardless of culture.

OP is probably from Russia (or any culture that was influenced by it and thus bears loanwords from Russian technical language) or Polish. They have special word for desktop/tower these two are not the same computers contrary to portable computers. It might be a layman's term from era of popular cheap crap notebooks or maybe an old nomenclature name from late communist days when mainframes and minicomputers were around, and more portable desk-tops appeared that could be easily moved around.
Did you know that "lap"-tops used to have a warning sign not to put them on laps because it obstructs air flow?.

Arch is a great starting point to learn about the Gnu/Linux operating system. Its not hard to install!

You will never fully do so.

Sorry but i am going to have bullshit on this one, no way microsoft does something so retarded, in such a easy to find out way

Like what? Reading the source code you don't have, or decompiling gigabytes of binaries?

If you read the linked article, it was by decrypting poorly encrypted packets sent to microsoft servers. They don't even put much effort into hiding it.

Sorry, I totally misread your post. I agree with you about the part about it being ridiculously easy to detect, but why wouldn't they do screenshots? To avoid making screenshots, they could for example extract text from almost every application and save only meaningful images, but they surely do something.
The article is badly cited, the author didn't provide the output from wireshark.

(you seem to be a different anon, since you have the opposite view)
Why would Microsoft even do such a retarded thing? If the encryption would be that weak, then crackers would just listen to packets and steal data.
