I got a few of these boys for next to nothing on aliexpress, like $2 each, and it's great the amount of soykaf you can do with them. You basically program them like an Arduino and they can do stuff like act as a simple web server, client, wifi scanner, iot device, ect.
I especially like deauther https://github.com/spacehuhn/esp8266_deauther which allows you to pull some pretty schway stuff with just the chip, a battery bank and your cellphone.
There's stuff like this too:

Got any? What do you use them for? Any projects?

I have one. I have used for a soykafy deauther and AP maker. I also used it to test how many people would connect a public WiFi that looked like the municipality free wifi. Otherwise I plan to use it as an Arduino IoT device. I like em.

Build an Ono-Sendai cyberdeck and hang around McDonalds wearing mirrorshades, drinking coffee and stealing passwords.

Oh yeah, ESP8266 is classic. Right now I'm planning on using one to interface with my garage door opener 'cause my bullshit landlord didn't give us remotes. So time to turn it into some IoT device, preferably with all processing local (why shouldn't it be ffs) and all source code known by me. After all, the S in IoT stands for Security.
