these two are my emacs and guix package manifest, respectivelly.
i write them in org-mode, and export them to elisp and scheme files respectivelly.
i can get the .el and .scm and bring it to any computer:
emacs will be the same as my main pc, and guix will install all the same packages i mention on the manifest for my user.
feels good to be organized

That's pretty nice lainon, I've been meaning to do something similar

Yeah, I've been doing this as well. Guix/Nix are pretty liberating for been organized. Only I don't really use org-mode for exporting to code files. I've tried it but I just don't like the overhead.
You can even move the store to another machine, create environments for programming that you can then easily deploy or create vms out of them.
In general guix is what made me interested in operating systems and solved the problem with the one thousand package managers for each language. I just want to do some things: clean my channel and push most stuff I have packaged upstream (currently have contributed two packages, but I have many gems and python libraries that I need to clean and submit patches for) and find a way to organize clojure into the system.
The code is very well written as well. I never had any experience in large projects, I worked mainly alone on around 1500LOC projects. However scheme and the organisation makes it quite easy to put your head around. Overall a great experience.

What was wrong with plaintext lists again?
Snark aside, Guix is fantastic. It and Nix are probably the best GNU/Linux development of the last 10 years.

I very much appreciate the fresh air that Guix System has brought (and Nix - credit where credit is due!). Installed perfectly on my x60.
However, it seems that package installation takes forever.... admittedly this could be due to the aging hardware though. Anyone else seeing this?
