They pulled the plug on the Google News & Weather app a while back.
I was using a really old version which didn't have a built-in browser (and I could subsequently use Firefox with an ad-blocker instead, which was nice).
The new Google News app is pure cancer, so what can I use instead (that's hopefully as good as News & Weather was)? Having something that aggregates and sorts stuff into categories like "Science", "Health", "World", etc. was really convenient and I'd hate to give it up.

Although not great for breaking things out into nice little categories, spidr.today is pretty solid for a news aggregate. Comment function wasn't the best addition, but for seeing news headlines and sources it's great.

I had a vague memory of seeing this somewhere before, thanks.
Though I guess the function I actually miss most is being able to make custom categories for different stuff - like a movie series, news from my city, etc.
This'll have to do, I guess.
