Desktop Mascots
Drifter · 2019-03-20 12:18
How do I get this? I installed something called macopix, but when I open it, it says to import .mcpx files. I've tried searching online, but I can't find any mcpx files, more specifically, Miku! I really want to have that Miku mascot.
If anyone knows where to get these files, or if there's a different way of getting these mascots, please tell me!

See http://rosegray.sakura.ne.jp/macopix/dl-e.html#mascot for some mascots that are shipped with the package itself.

the Miku links were broken... Do you know of any other places to download her?

Try http://mokeke.sytes.net/downloads/linux/mikunchu/macopix/Dancing-Miku0.3.tar.gz , it is an older version but it shouldn't 404.
Or https://onedrive.live.com/?id=3C040D9D8C110719%21125&cid=3C040D9D8C110719 from http://mypace75.blog92.fc2.com/blog-entry-526.html?sp

Hey this seems really cool and I want to install it too! But I don't know how!
I'm trying to install macopix. The archive on the website gives me a bunch of files. On the instructions it says to run "configure.sh" but when I open it, it just opens a text editor! What am I doing wrong?

I really don't get this. Will they just float there and do random stuff out so they interact with you based on your action?

I used sprites from an old windows sitter (circa 1998) and made my own mascot. Sometimes DIY is the only option.

Then a random timer. Nothing too complex.

You can configure position, text, clock, sound, actions, but nothing too clear. You have to guess and try.

Macopix works well. ninix-aya has this weirdness going on where black squares load up and the only thing that seems to work are the speech bubbles but characters don't. Not sure whats up.
